That's too funny. Now Canada can support even more lefties.
Strange, Canadians I know who live here are fairly conservative and love to mock leftists. 'Course, they're more or less representative of the mining industry there.

I'm here. If anyone needs any assistance in relocating to Canada, or anywhere else in the world, I will offer my services, absolutely free, after President Elect Donald Trump wins the election.

Services will include, illegally sneaking American Refugees over the border.

That is dumb. How many times have people said if........ happens then I am leaving. So far no one has left. I saw an article that Miley Cyrus is going to leave if Trump wins. Who cares if she leaves. Anyone who would desert their country, wouldn't want them anyways.

@Asia-Off-Grid statement above doesn't pertain to you because you have been abroad for years.

Thanks. :) I left due to knowing I could live much cheaper outside the US, after retirement. That was about 2001, or so? I forget now. Now that I look back, though, I could have just bought a piece of land somewhere and gone off-grid. However, I would not trade my experiences for anything in this world.

I remember when Baldwin and Streisand were leaving if Bush was elected and they're still here. We would be blessed if the liberals would keep their word; however as we know, they don't.

Canada wants Her borders secure and as usual our media spins it.

It is odd, their spinning so much doesn't nauseate them because it sure does nauseate me.

But what are we going to do if Hillary wins...? Frankly, I think she has a very good chance. I mean, she isn't locked up yet so very good chance she won't be...having lived in that world most of my life I can't understand what's the problem, at the very least she should lose her clearance while she is investigated.

Canada will not be far enough away if Hillary wins...

@Mindgrinder What if we promised to only send them to Quebec? Actually would be fun to have them take a time trial in one of their Socialist utopias as a normal citizen. I suggest one that's been over run by "peaceful" rape loving refugee immigrants where the police will refuse to protect or even investigate for fear of political retaliation.

And, hell yes, Canada, protect your borders and your citizens - that's your sovereign right.

I guess I will just have to move to Cambodia. :D

Seriously, if she does win, we ain't seen bad times in the US, by comparison. But, you can be your collective arses - we will. :(

Perhaps housing them on military bases with the Syrian "migrants" would be more humane than Quebec...

Refugees To Be Housed At Military Bases In Coming Weeks

EXCLUSIVE: Liberals plan to build refugee camps on seven Canadian military bases -- Taxpayers will fund mosques, Korans

Though this "plan" appears to be changing...due to public whiskey tango foxtrotting...

Military bases no longer to house massive refugee influx, but soldiers can’t return just yet

Yeah, I agree. And, I'm afraid. For some reason, I really feel this is it. I was going to do some major upgrades on house this Spring/Summer but going to wait and see what happens first, keep my options open. We haven't even been it a year yet so...
I wouldn't do Cambodia as I know the culture, language and have lots of connections in Central Asia so - we'd go there. Frankly, given the current exchange rate (which has almost doubled since we left) we'd be filthy rich, more so than we were before...so it's tempting but those places have a lot of negatives also...

Well, there is a precedent in leaving a place, AFTER an Election, in my family.... AlaskaChick and I moved to Bush Alaska, after I lost a Bet with one of my Partners, in '91.... It was a "Loser leaves Town" bet, when The DemonCrats took over Washington State, the year, before... Although my Partner, also left the State, later on, to go Join the Canadian Branch of Northern Lakota Tribe....

I thought you came from another part of the world, or are you just talking about moving from the USA after being here a while?

It does matter how you tell a story.

Maybe when they get finished with that fence they can take some of their Illegals and contract for a fence south of the US too.

I want a fence like that around my BOL. (The wife would have a fit).
Quad 50s on the roof would be nice also, along with an Abrams or two.

They use USD here as commonly as the Cambodian Riel. USD are also dispensed from ATMs. So, if you have a banking institution that reimburses ATM fees, like Schwab for example, it costs you nothing to get money transferred here. $300 USD / year is all a visa costs to stay here. My housing is $120 USD / month. This is for a modern, western style (like we are accustomed to in the states), secure apartment. Water is $.50c US / cubic meter. A $2.50 water bill is nice. But, power is high here, at the equivalent of $.38c / kWh. Food here depends on what you wish to eat. Eat like a local - Asian cuisine is cheap. I like imported foods, though. So, my food bill is significantly higher.

The main negative here is - proper medical care, or a lack of it. In that case, I would fly to the Philippines, or trot my happy self across to Thailand. Language is a pain here. If you want to be able to communicate (much easier) with locals, the Philippines would be the place to live. Fortunately, though, my girlfriend speaks English well. So, she tends to any business with Khmers that we need sorting.

I truly hope each of you have someone in your respective lives, that makes you as happy as she does for me. She is the reason I live each day.

I'm an American, born and bred. I didn't leave due to any election, though, only due to cost of living.

I have lived abroad for the last 6 years. Due to work situation. The more I see what is happening back home the less desire I have to move back. If AmRev2 ever breaks out I will be there but other than that I am content to sit on shore and watch the ship sink. I was accused once of being a rat deserting a sinking ship. I replied, seems like those are the smart rats!
