    Donald Trump's confession....

For the whole article....Nocookies The Australian, is a Citizen Murdoch publication; so it just has to be true!

If it is true, it's exactly what this country needs after 8 years of lilly-livered administration that allows the rest of the world to use it as a door mat.

The article, although not necessarily wholly factual, none the less possesses a certain truthiness to it, that can only be effectively delivered by a skilled, and shrewdly observant satirist: as Philip Adams, undoubtedly is. ;)

I do wonder what is the lesser of two evils? Trump or Hillary? I am starting to get behind Trump just because he is shaking the power brokers that have been eroding our rights and are driving this country into the ground. It is really nice to see the officials panic for a bit. Those people would rather have a Dem then someone they cannot control. IMO that says a lot.
I occasionally have trouble identifying Australian humor but I think the article is satire. But from my view most people will see it as 100% gospel truth.I know you put it in humor but people will believe it. Half the voters in America think the skits they see on Saturday night live is true portrayals of politicians.

I'm starting to believe 90% of the Americans walking the planet have lost the ability to recognize humor that doesn't involve laugh tracks, and if my FB feed is any indicator then satire is far beyond the grasp of the majority as well.

Which is why satire can be so devastatingly entertaining. It is the needle which pricks, and deflates the over-inflated self importance of pricks. ;)

It's like an Australian Saturday night satire and quite well done, funny actually...

To me, it is not even a decision between choosing Trump or Hillary. She is a criminal, a political animal and we definitely do not need anymore dynasties. Trump, while a bit outlandish at times, one must remember that he is not a politician so he is not a political correct speaker so he speaks reality and his mind. The fact that he is causing big waves in the establishment, he cannot be controlled by the elites, and he is the only candidate that can beat Hillary should, in my mind, be the deciding factor. So, going with the Heinlein saying of "if there is no one you want to vote for there is always someone you want to vote against" it is a no brainer to vote for Trump. Besides, Cruz wife is just to close to the establishment and the financial wizards for comfort and resides in their pocket along with her husband.

My greatest fear is once again people will say "Well, I don't really like Trump and I won't vote for Hillary so I won't vote" just like last time and we got stuck with Obama out of apathy. This time, if this happens, it will be much worse because we have been damaged so bad in the last 8 years that if changes are not made soon for the better than the country is finished. I believe this is it. I believe this is the election that will say whether America can come back or if it is truly a lost cause. We are out of time.

I'm no Trump fan, but I think just about anyone is a lesser evil than Hillary...

Trump is not a politician, that's a good thing, and I hope he changes the "new" portrait on the $20 bill of the woman that broke the law by leading the slaves North, with a real heroine, like Sacagawea.

I have been in the Trump camp from the get go on most issues. I voted for him in the Michigan Primary and helped him win here. It is his stance on trade that has me in his corner. I have always been a moderate protectionist. Much like Ross Perot and Pat Buchannon.

Bad and unjust laws invite being broken or ignored. It is by ignoring and breaking bad and unjust laws, that they are sometimes changed, and replaced by better and more just laws. If the men and women of colonial America had obeyed strictly, and obediently all British laws, they would have paid their tea taxes, and they would have remained law abiding British subjects.

Ghandi's defiance of breaking British law was but one symbolic protest, but a powerfully influential one in securing Indian independence from Britain.

I dare say that there are many deserving candidates for the honour bestowed of being a face on FRN currency, but once we start delving into "real heroine" classifications, there is a risk of falling afoul of the "No True Scotsman" fallacy. With all due respect to Native American Indians: replacing Harriet Tubman with Sacagawea, would most likely be perceived as replacing one alleged example of political correctness with a different one.

Philip Adams is the voice of Late Night Live. Philip Adams is one of those interesting Australian persons of the left, who is quite as content accepting filthy lucre from Citizen Murdoch's broadsheet rag (The Australian) as he does from the (leftie) Australian Broadcasting Corporation for being a commentator story teller and interviewer on Late Night Live....which is available as a free podcast download from Radio National (as are many other very excellent ABC programs).
