Hi. I'm new here but not necessarily new to survival boards. Thought I might as well jump in and introduce myself. I've been into preparedness for
over 8 years now and live in the south where things like hunting, fishing, and camping come naturally to most of us.

I have for the most part, a god grasp on most things prepardness wise and though I'll never have all the items I wish I had, survivalism has taught me that it is indeed a long and interesting road where around every corner is something new and a learning experience to be had.

Gear wise we have most things in order, that includes BOB's, food stores, ammo and firearms, tools, energy and a second bug out location that is stocked to get us by for some time.

I was just wondering what your goals and plans for 2007 are, as I might get osme good ideas from you all for my 2007 plans. think right now, I'll be preparing financially in maybe aquiring some more PM's since I've got most other bases covered. So What will you do this year?

By the way Happy New Year1 Hope all is going well and I wish you a safe and prosperous new year ahead.

    Welcome to the board Republiman.

My plans for 07' include setting up several caches and alternate bugout sites. In addition to adding to my current supply levels. I am still working on the perfect bug out bag, and have yet to find the perfect light weight, but still has everything I want set up.

welcome to the monkey den Republiman.

I plan on losing the 50 lbs I gained from having 4 knee surgeries so I can hunt like I used to.

First off, welcome to the monkey! It appears you'll fit right in around here.

    Goals, tough one actually...

Survival wise, just to increase the stockpiles a little.

Personal wise..... quit smoking, lose weight, blah, blah.

I do have one interesting goal for 07 though, that's to get into the local cowboy action shooting scene here and bring my skills up to "gunfighter legend" status ;)

Oh yeah, and I want to catch a sturgeon :)

Pretty straight forward goals here. Get the project done (probably mid year)[touchdown] and move on to a more permanent situation. Will be looking at things a bit more intensely come late spring and laying out a plan of attack for finding a place to stick in for the next umpteen years. [soap] NO RESOLUTIONS, I've never kept one anyway, and have considerable years to try.:sneaky: No point to floggin' my noggin on brick walls any more, makes one older than his years.

Good wishes to all for the upcoming year, hope it is as bright as mine will be.[flag]

    My plans:

Become better at what I do.

    Try to move back home.

Stock up some goodies and buy a few firearms.

Try to set up a homestead somewhere. How and where is up in the air.

My plans for 2007 include more time in waders, standing knee deep in a cold New England stream, fly rod in hand.

RH, if you use worms for fly fishing, I'll bait your hooks. Sea an' me, we can bank sit an' drink beers while you ketch 'em, whether or not worms are wanted. I can smell the New England fish stew even now, last sampled in New London a long time ago.[stirpot]:p:D

You guys can stay busy tying flies and I'll do the catching but you can't get too rowdy on the bank. Noise can ruin a good fishing trip

Tying flies? No worms?[LMAO] If you just swat the flies, they'll leave you alone, don't have to tie them, then put a big juicy worm on the hook and stand back! (Learned this from Patrick McManus)

My grandson is my best fishing buddy so for Christmas, I got him a new creel and vest. Also, a new supply of hooks, leads, sinkers, bobs, and a barrel for worm farming. I raise worms myself and it's time he learned the simple science himself. I'm looking forward to some good times this spring and summer.

I love sea fishing as well. Once brought in a tarpon. Good Blue fishing in "The Race" off RI coast.

Well thank you for the welcome. Sounds like a lot of you have some pretty good ideas. Especially the more fishing part. I fish also for stripers where we have a place at a lake.

Now I know I'm a newbie here and I hope thias doesn't get me in trouble with the mods or anyone else but I just can't resist as so many of you left yourselves wide open for this shot I'm about to take.

In our part of the woods, the people who want to sit around and bait other peoples hooks can rapidly, with practice, become what we call Master Baiters.

    Sorry...... I couldn't help myself.[touchdown]

    Gallowglass Winter is coming

'Scuse me for getting back to the topic, but my plans for 2007 include doubling the size of the garden (alternating halves every year, garden in one side, buckwheat and alfalfa in the other) and buying another SKS.

Thank you. Please resume fish talk.

My plans for 07 are going to be a lot different than previous years have been.
For one my wife has been in Med school for several years and we have been living on one income.
She will graduate in 2 months.
We will be getting on with our lives
And making up for loss time in our plans for the big game in survival.
I have quit everything that’s bad for me years ago, I'm good in that dept.
    I'm healthy and comfortable.
We have been stocking up more every year, But plan to do way more this year.
Also im going to start my pilots license classes this year
My wife has discovered steelhead fishing, and is doing very well at it, and we plan to go all out This year and have a good time of it now that she doesn’t have to study all but 4 hours of the day.
One big one for me is this year and the next 3 is spending as much time as I can with my daughter and teaching my daughter in more detail about woods and people survival and having as much fun as we can together because she will be off to college in 3 years.
Im going to miss my little girl I don’t want her to grow up, but she is and is doing it very well, she makes me proud, so this year and the next 3 are hers.
