Yeah, I have already been warned by my insurance company. They didn't say how much but from all the rumblings it sounds that it will be substantial. My grief with Health Care is that I feel I already pay enough in taxes and if the government can give money away to other countries then they can pay my premiums. Strange how all these large increases are coming now that Obama is heading for the door...

Yup, rates & co-pays went up and services (lost dental) went away Jan 1 this year. Next year will be even worse as the gradual changes get implemented.

This will continue for several more years...

Thanks Nancy Pelosi and Justice Kennedy.

It was announced up front when they passed the steaming pile of crap. It worked because the majority think short term - that stuff a couple of years from now is too far ahead to worry about...

Our premiums tripled last year, and coverage dropped about 90% Its so big a difference I could not type all the details here.

Don't get me started I have come down hard on a few liberals over this in person who were defending it.

I live in a 2700 sqft 4 bedroom house, 3 car garage on a lake and the health care cost for a bronze plan for my wife and I cost more then my mortgage payment each month!

    We have a $15000 / yr deductible.

W e started out and played the game. Year one gold plan with 500 deductible 260.00 a month. Year two that plan went up to 470.00 a month so we went to a partnered silver plan with a 3600 deductible. 184 .00 a month This year we have the same silver plan and its 227.00 a month. Our tax break given to us amounts to about 530.00 a month. The tax break is being given to the poor and low income families to help them afford coverage. we make barely 32,000.00 per year . The answer is to keep the tax breaks for the low income people , end the mandatory part and the penalty so we are not forcing people to buy. This will create competition. Then to fund we use healthcare savings accounts that you pay into instead of insurance companies. This way 100% of the money in goes to pay for services and not insurance company wages, and other overhead.

Trump has the answer to the problem as that is his plan in a nut shell. Make obama care an option not mandatory. Then phase it out using trust fund savings accounts instead of insurance companies. That plan will cut near 50% off the top.

What @Salted Weapon & @AD1 said. Healthcare premiums have been going up at least 8% every year since the passage of AHCA. The coverage has also gone down. I notice that there has also been a reclassification of what is normal care vs. specialist. My son and I went to the drs and when all was said & done, the co-pays plus monthly premium were more then my mortgage. They wanted to see us again and I said no. I wish that had a flat penalty then I would buy a catastrophic plan and set my premium aside. I think I would come out ahead.

HSA's work in that you have a large deductible plan that is low cost. Thus if you have a catastrophic event, you pay the deductible out of your account and the insurance handles the rest. My friends at Whole Foods absolutely love their HSA's and have set aside quite a bit of cash in the account. They have to keep at least the amount of the deductible in the account at all times.

We had to change doctors but because they did not take the Silver partnered plan. They wanted the silver preferred which was about the same coverage for twice the price. Insurance companies are the problem and need to be removed from the equation. When 41% OF EVERY DOLLAR GOES TO PAY THE INSURANCE COMPANY expenses and employees you only get 59% yield. Healthcare trust funds are the right way to go. Much better use of my tax break and my tax dollars. less people skimming off the top.

Two women, same operation, one paid cash the other "covered" by AHCA. Same hospital, same doctor. Cash patient was $7000. AHCA co-pay of the other woman was $96,000.
Again, just say NO. The AHCA is nothing more than a form of gov't fraud and needs to be treated as such...perhaps it goes as far as hitting on a RICO infraction?

If Hillary (or Bernie, for that matter) gets elected, they will "fix" it.

The plan all along was that it would not work, so they would pave the way for single payer for all.

That's been an open secret since the beginning, but the sheep are in denial mode where their future and rights are concerned, so why bother to hide it?

.gov is steadily working to become the supplier of all things we need from food to housing to medical care. It won't be long before they can drop the charade entirely.

There is a new insurance that complys with the ACA guidelines and is a Christian based group whose cost is 1/3 of what I pay. I work as a consultant so I pay full pices for Blue Cross without a portion picked up by any employer.

Its called Liberty Health Share and is a "coop"

We are looking at switching from Blue Cross to Liberty within a few months.
    Liberty HealthShare
    There is strength in numbers.
Join a community of health-conscious Americans who practice longstanding Christian principles in sharing healthcare costs. Liberty HealthShare℠ exists for everyone who purchases healthcare for themselves or their family, or who wants to control their own healthcare.

Liberty HealthShare℠ is not insurance. It simply unites like-minded Americans to share medical costs together.

    How it works
