we made our way back home today. Hooray!! I feel pretty good so far. The eye no longer has that black curtain over 90% of it, but vision is extremely bad.....blurry like all get out. I have a gas bubble in it that the doc says is needed for proper healing. Also, for proper healing, he wants me to lay facedown 45 minutes of every hour, up 15 minutes. No lifting, no bending, take good care of myself. I followed his instructions to a "t" for the first 16 hours and he said it showed....that things looked very good. I go back for a follow up next Tuesday. He said I should start seeing small improvements at 2-4 weeks, the bubble should start going away in 4-6 weeks, but will take a while longer to completely disappear. Bummer, but looking tons better than 2 weeks ago or last week. Its gonna be a long summer, I think. Kajun
Glad things are going well so far...don't be tempted to rush the healing time! A friend of mine did, and she ended up having to have more surgery and was out of commission for nearly 8 months as a result. Prayers for your full recovery!
Heavens no! Do not rush the progress and over do. Follow Doctors orders. I am a sore sumbich in certain places because I did not listen. Don't screw up like I did.
My wife has quite a few medical issues, but if she would follow doc's instructions better, she would heal so much faster. She has a stubborn streak that keeps getting her in trouble. Let it heal! As you start feeling better, you will be more likely to let those instructions slide, and do yourself more damage. Seriously, let it heal.
It'll get better, just follow the Dr's instructions and don't cheat. Glad that all went as expected. Mend and heal....
Hang in there TK, the recovery is often the hardest part on those of us that get out and do stuff. Prayers and best wishes for a speedy recovery!
Well good, you passed the "listen to the Doc" test just fine. Keep up the good work. It ain't easy to be sick and it takes more work than many know in getting well.
Wishing you a strong, solid recovery TxK. Thanks for sharing the eye issue and medical process taken. Age affects our vision health, and that affects the way we "see" the world. You'll help us all with your post-treatment progress updates. Slow is smooth; and smooth is fast.
