Even if we are are in altered circumstances, I don't think too many of us would enjoy a hirsute existence so I found these methods of hair removal interesting. Since I haven't used them, I cannot vouch for their effectiveness but I would be willing to try just keep the squirrels and bees at a distance. The only negative is that they say these should be applied with a gauze. I don't think I would part with any of my supplies that could be used for medical purposes just to have less hairy legs. However, my partner may be willing to part with a few length of gauze for a good cause!

    THE NUTSHELL METHOD
    #1 In A Nutshell
First get yourself a handful of nutshells. The measurement isn't anything precise, you just want to make sure you don't have too much or too little.

    #2 Burn The Shells
Yes, the next step requires you to burn your nutshells until they are black and crisp.

    #3 Get 'Em Wet
Place what you've created in a sizable bowl and add some water. Stir it up and let the mixture sit for about 12 hours.

#4 Applying The Concoction To Your Body

Grab some gauze and soak it in the mix. Pull it out and place it over the part of your body where you want to remove your hair. Hold it in place for approximately thirty minutes before removal. To achieve maximum results, continue using this method for a few weeks

    THE SUGAR METHOD
    #5 The Body Sugar Method
The ancient Egyptians used this method for removing unwanted hair. Start with two whole cups of sugar... Not a spoonful as Mary Poppins would want you to think!

    #6 Add Some Water
Add about 1/4th cup of water to your sugar and stir.

    #7 Finishing Touches
The next thing to do is to add about a quarter of a lemon worth of lemon juice to the mixture. Then you'll want to boil everything until it reaches about 250-degrees. After it cools, use gauze to dip into the solution and then apply it to your skin; removing it after about 15 minutes.

I'm presuming you let the mixture cool before applying with gauze?

Ancient Egyptians didn't have sugar, ahem, but if my Lady wanted to wanted to do some unsightly hair removal in a grid down situation, I sure wouldn't argue, though I might be reluctant to see that much sugar used and would probably encourage the nut shell process. After a few weeks in the boonies it can be hard to tell our genders apart anyways unless I'm not shaving my light facial whiskers. Anybody tried charcoal eyeliner?

Fellas, don't forget to pick up a straight razor and strop for yourselves, along with a boar bristle and cup for your soap. Learning to use the razor might be a hair raising experience for some...
During SHTF, the life and safety of your loved ones will be 99.99% of what matters to you, and if she is a bit furry at night it won't be much of a concern, especially if that's right after the weekly bath.
