    On September 17, 1796. President Washington said: "It is our true policy to steer clear of permanent alliance with any portion of the foreign world.... Why, by interweaving our destiny with that of any part of Europe, entangle our peace and prosperity in the toils of European ambition, rivalship, interest, humour or caprice?'
    President Washington attempted to warn the American people about getting embroiled in the affairs of Europe. But in 1914, it was not to be. There were those who were secretly planning America's involvement in World War I whether the American people wanted it or not.
    But to this day many history buff read between the lines and see that the war was not necessary and had more to do with commerce then land. But you can't in that day of age convince a people to go to war over trade issues. So what do you do ? You create false events and hire people to act the parts they did it then and they do it now. Problem is in the USA its backfiring, people are not being coming more antigun. They are becoming more anti-government. The next step is to instigate a civil war. I think in my opinion Bundy Standoff as it was called was testing the waters to see public response. Let me put my tin foil hat on for a moment, I have no doubt that UCC here in Oregon was a planned event and sanctioned by our own federal government. Those that live here like myself know this 100% as for us none of the facts add up at all. There is a black-government operation in most government that seek to disrupt the people Australia is Hilarys love child because they had huge success convincing the public they all would die at the hand of guns. They are trying it here but its not working sadly in history when a government fails in its tactics to guide the people by fear, it will the do so by war.
    Arm up my friends history shows this to be a real possibility.

    Even looking back in the 1600's the King sent messengers into towns to give his spin on things and to possibly increase taxes for the benefit of country. I am not sure why today people act surprised that the government is tyrannical .
    After all we allowed it, we let the government take control and when we passed the Bill of rights giving the people the right to be armed and take the country back we did nothing, and we still do nothing. We are now all so scared of being locked up by the tyrannical government rather then fighting back there is no other reason then we do not want to lose what we have ourselves. Americans before the revolution felt like we did, there was fear of loss of life family and future, yet we have our present day because they sacrificed all they had to be free and to allow us that right that we are now wasting.
    Our forefathers set in law our rights to take our country back if need be, but instead we watch CNN to be guided or what ever and even will say we wont comply but we do. We say thats its we wont take it, but we do. We say not but from my cold dead hands but we allow our guns rights to be taken.
    We as free men and women are failing our country as much as the government has. Our forefathers would not have died and sacrificed if the knew we would puss out when the time came. Why even bother giving us rights if we will just lay down and do nothing.
    I know its easy blame the feds for our problems and rightfully so, but we had a choice not to comply our Bill of Rights and our Constitution gave us those rights yet we chose to do nothing but wait and wait and wait. We should feel ashamed for still doing nothing we still have a choice in this country to take it back by sword or by vote. But if the vote fails will we once again fail our forefather and our future generations by doing nothing. I WONT COMPLY, only means something when you don't do it.

    Good post @Salted Weapon . May I point out that it may have a great deal to do with "The frame of mind" that many have today. The Amendments to the constitution are not a granter of rights to the states and the people, in fact, it is a guarantee of the rights! The right to bear arms pre-existed the revolution itself. The militia existed before the revolution. The constitution was mearly a second shot at making the colonies come together and work together. The amendments were put in place as the means to remind the overpayment that those rights came before the government and would be the means to ultimately change a tyrannical government.

    Once the people of this country start thinking as our founders had and remember that government nor the constitution GRANTS right, and we all HAVE those right without permission of ANYONE, then people will start seeing what the government is trying to do is wrong in oh so many ways..

    Example; If a person is found guilty of a crime and sent to prison, they loose some of their rights. Once their sentence has been served they find that they are still denied their right, despite having fulfilled their obligations. That is government stripping a right that they are not allowed to tamper with. If they can do it with one right, then they believe they can trample on all the rights the people have. Granted, they can petition the courts to return their right, however how often does this happen? It is still dependent on all members of the government judiciary to agree.

    People need to learn what their rights were prior to the forming of this government, and demand that they not be infringed on..

    one slight quibble - the Constitution and Bill of Rights didn't "give" us anything we didn't already have.

    Otherwise, you are spot on and perhaps it's time that we recalled the pledge of our founding fathers when they declared our independence and rededicated ourselves to the cause of freedom "with a firm reliance on the protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor."

    I would agree, @chimo its always so hard to post and not go into too many avenues to explain where the direction originated I find just for me getting to much history people go deer in head lights and do not read what you type.
    But absolutely it to ensured our abilities to secure our rights, not granting them. I think when we say we are given these rights etc, it make good sense how you said it I will try and keep myself in the future from not giving rights by the Bill of Rights, but ensuring they existed.

    I only mentioned it because way too many people do think that the Constitution and the government grant us our rights...and I don't want us to mistakenly reinforce that notion to the growing number of Idiocrats. ;)

    The main problem is that the majority of Americans have freely chosen, through ignorance or stupidity, to exchange their sovereignty for security and pleasure. Before the time the colonies declared independence, the only sovereign was the King of England. We are each a King unto ourselves, and our government is supposed to be our servant, not our master.
