President Obama responds to Supreme Court ruling blocking his executive action on immigration Yahoo News Video • June 23, 2016 On June 22, 2016, after the Supreme Court blocked the president’s immigration executive action, President Obama told reporters that the split 4-4 ruling was “heartbreaking” and “takes us further from the country we aspire to be.” President Obama responds to Supreme Court ruling blocking his executive action on immigration Video What is interesting about this is its split 4-4 which means it blocked Obama and the Supreme Court asked the attorney's to argue over if Executive Orders and if they were a constitutional violation of the 'take care clause' because it was evenly split nothing is decided but Obama's actions are stopped for now
Who's this "we", you have a mouse in your pocket? I don't think most Americans aspire to the same agenda you do Mr. President.
well lets not actually look at the fact he got stopped, lets just throw more liberal vs conservative fuel on the fire. one day we actually have to start talking instead of throwing verbal napalm.
Oh our President with this crisis with immigration and how the Congress will not "update" the law to solve the immigration crisis. The present law states that if they are not here legally, they are to be deported, and the problem is that it hasn't been done. As far as breaking up families, the law allows them to take their children with them and if they do leave them behind, it is their choice. Obummer talks about his heritage and the generations that they have lived here, yet identifies as black when it suits him and his black parent never had more than a student visa. They are now referring to the illegal immigrants as unauthorized immigrants and that holds as much water as referring to a bank robber as making unauthorized withdrawals. His speech today was totally political and if any fairness existed in the media, Trump would have been given free air time to answer it. The Constitution states advise and consent to his supreme court selections and specifically no provisions are made for time of action or his ability to make out of session appointments. The poliitcs is getting dirty and it looks like the greatest scoundrel may well win, Hilliry has sold her soul and 100 million couldn't get Bush the 3 rd selected.
I like that this turns it back to the Applet Court and a judge who is already angry that the DOJ lied to the court....
I totally agree but it needs to be a rational, truthful talk. It is an issue. We have all these "unaccompanied minors" that came in. I have heard the rhetoric of families torn apart yada, yada...... but those families were "torn apart" when the parents put their kids on a train for another country. Realistically the voters not wanting to take care of these entitlement seeking illegals is understandable. We do have illegals that own homes or are making payments on them. If the gov't started mass deportation that would have a huge effect. Yes, illegals can just up and leave when they chose and leave the lender hanging but I think most illegals that have bought homes have decided they want the American dream. I do not know @Ganado what the answer is. But I will say, Obama's actions were not beneficial to our country.
He said yesterday that this does not change anything he or him minions are doing. Blamed it on the court and the Rep Congress.
@AD1 are you sure? my read is it was sent back to lower court which did not rule in favor of Obama actions
You are correct. Since the supremes did not reach a consensus, the lower Court ruling stands. What is stunning is that 4 of them believe POTUS has the the "right" to make laws......
I spit verbal napalm...I throw hand grenades. The way I look at it, those that are already here and have been relatively law-abiding (other than being here illegally), productive and self-sufficient are not my primary concerns. It's those that are committing crimes and mooching our resources that are on the top of my hit list to send back to where they came from. Let's deal with the latter first while we have a national discussion on what, if anything, we want to do with the former.
For once its nice to see Democrats shut down when they perform out of touch mentally ill ideas. I for one am glad for him to be spit on for a change. I have to watch flag, my rights, spit on by him. Very nice to see him get shut down. This should show this POS we are not with him, we do not need him and we can't wait to get him out and replaced with Trump. I for one was tired of being told what I think.
Sign of age...when I was younger it was considered a nice ass. Speaking of the President and immigration, when discussing this whole no-fly-no-buy BS today I recalled a little factoid related to that and immigration that I had forgotten all about...so I did a little searching and sure enough...did you all know that Obama's BATFE actually loosened the rules to MAKE IT EASIER for non-citizens to buy guns back in 2011? http://www.nytimes.com/2011/12/23/us/atf-eases-rules-on-gun-sales-to-noncitizens.html
