Michigan had an incident in the late 60's or early 70's were a few hundred pounds was accidently mixed into hundreds of tons of cattle feed. The results were very bad. Looked it up and it was consumed by about 9 million people and problems still are showing up. Tests show level in US 20 to 40 times higher in human tissue and breast milk than in Europe.

Thank you for that mental image...:ROFLMAO:

Aren't water and baking soda also fire retardants? Because one substance can be used for one purpose does not mean it can't be used for an entirely different purpose including as a food product. Same goes for compounds that have components that are on their own dangerous. Table salt is made from sodium and chloride - one an explosive and the other a poison. Also, countries ban things including food products for political reasons as well as to protect their citizens. I'd like to know WHY they were banned as opposed that THAT they were banned. IMO the author may be correct in the warnings, but using baseless rhetoric makes me wary and skeptical.

I think that it is a good list. Half that stuff si not in the house, nor do we eat it. I am real finicky about fish and we rarely have soda. My kids like water. Packaged foods are hard to get away from. Sometimes I am just too lazy after work to create a meal, it is easier to open a box. I have started to prepared dishes for eating during the week. The kids love being able to heat up good food.

I know I should not have such faith in a federally run program but shouldn't the FDA have issue with this? This post is really disgusting. I know that they say when you go grocery shopping to only buy from the outer aisle because the rest is poison. But I often question what do you eat when you are going to a restaurant? Or which places are the safest and healthiest to go to?

Add anything with aspartame in it. All diet sodas, most artificial sweetners. Most anything sugar free. It is banned in Europe and is known to cause cancer.

Last night at dinner (eating out) I had the kids (not all mine) take the blue pack, pink and yellow and read what was in it. I then asked them what those unpronounceable words were. It was great to hear the theories on what the kids thought that stuff was. Teaching them young to question. I am hoping they learned that anything sitting on a dining out table, you probably should not be consuming. Ketchup, sauces etc...

I find the answer usually boils down to either "Poison" or "YDWK*"

Xylitol isn't actually an artificial sweetener (processed, yes but its from birch bark unless you get the "corn derived" version)
Remember Grapes/raisins & chocolate are also toxic to dogs, that doesn't mean they are artificial.

They say you learn something new every day..... I didn't know that xyitol has a corn derived version. I have an alleged sugar free, good stuff sweetener but I wonder if the xyitol is from birch or corn. Thank you @runswithdogs so much for this heads up.

It should say on the label, I only use the birch bark version. It dosent trigger blood sugar spikes for DH (Diabetic if we dont watch the diet)
Also watch out for where its coming from.. I dont trust the made in china versions ether (although to date all the ones ive seen were also corn derived)

Im guessing CORN since MM is in USA & CORN is also in the fuel as a filler byproduct .
the BTU's is so much less than the trouble it will cause.

CORN,SOYA,are processed to the max as fillers & substitutes for real food.
