My nic is Too Country for good reason, Farm boy from Tennessee. I am starting a project were we look for candidates who want to live a self sufficient lifestyle and could use a little help. We will be traveling across the US giving assistance to those we can. Building structures, digging wells, installing solar and so on at no cost to the recipient. Our goal here is to share what I have learned in my 56 years of self sufficient and off grid living. Meet some great people and do some good in this world while I am still able. Good morning @Too Country welcome to survival monkey. Sounds like you have a nice plan, going around helping others is a lovely thing. I followed your link and I assume that you are planning on funding your venture via your go fun me page. How long have you been planning this mission. Everything seems to have been created last night. Did you give up house and job, basically say I am done working for the machine?
I have been planning this for some time and had hoped to completely self fund. But reality has taken hold and I realize some help from those willing would mean we can do more. So yes, yesterday I created a patreon account and posted the first video about what we are doing. I have always planned to post vids to youtube but again the patreon aspect is brand new. I signed up here because we are currently planning our first trip for the spring and I figured this would be a good place to look for destinations and those who could use our help. I have worked hard and had some success in life but am not wealthy. I had planned to retire at some point and just live out my days enjoying a simple country life. But over the years things changed, I have a health condition that ensures retirement will be rather short. I have no living children or family for that matter. So rather than let some bean counter decide what happens to what I leave behind I decided I may as well spend it! Every last nickle if possible. So I decided what better way than sharing and helping those who are of like mind and values. Get to meet some great people and make some wonderful new friends while doing some good in the world. Besides, I have a real aversion to just giving away money. This way I know it goes to a good use and does some good as intended. I hope that explains things without getting to mottled. I aint that bright but I am long winded......lol Oh and anyone who would like to discuss plans via phone just hit me with a number and I will call. As stated I am looking for destinations and things we can do to help!!! I am big on hearing ones voice and looking people in the eye if possible. Helps me determin the type of tree by the fruit if ya know what I mean!
