Why, the Borg language, of course. Yeesh, wassamaddah U?

I'm not so sure that I agree that Tuborg beats all US beers, but for sure is better than most. Just haven't found it in this nekka da woods, so I've let Sam Adams fill in the gap. There's a slew of botique very small scale breweries, some of which are very good, and some that make porcupine pizz appealing. The problem is that the good ones are as commonly available as unicorn pee. (I found one this past weekend that I wouldn't wish on anyone outside of the daesh.)

The underground anti snooping TOR using interneters calls it "THE BORG" as it is the ever present "all seeing and tracking BORG" that is collecting every snippet of data on each amd everyone of us.

Think of it as the new HALL

Had an Australian captain. He felt really bad about not catching anything especially being my first time and on my birthday. It wasn't for lack of trying. We stayed out for 6 1/2 hours. 1 1/2 longer than we paid for. He said he was going to call me when he knows they are biting and will take me out for free.
He came here 31 years ago on vacation and stayed. He bought the boat and retired from his job, and now just fishes and runs charters. Not a bad life!

Original was Roman but current incarnation was rebuilt by the Venetians. This island has been ruled by every dominate power in the region at one time or another. The Greeks and Romans of course. One village just west of here was a province of Sparta. The village I live in is said to have been founded by a group of Grecian warriors returning home from the siege of Troy. A storm sunk thier ship and the survivors made it to shore here.
Marc Antony gave the island to Cleopatra and she built a Summer palace to escape the heat of Alexandria.
Richard the 3rd (the lionheart) took the island and built a series of mountain top castles. The crusaders staged from here before traveling across to the holy land. He married in the still standing chapel in Famagusta. The only British royal wedding to take place outside Britain.
This was the first nation in the world to be ruled by a Christian King.
The traveling companion and fellow evangelist of St. Paul, Barnabas, was born, martyred and is entombed in the ancient Roman city of Salamis. A 40 minute drive from my house.
King Richard gave the island to the Knights Templar. They in turn sold it to Guy de Lusignan. The French crusader Knight who was named King of Jerusalem. The Lusignan dynasty ruled for 400 years. Then came the Venetians then the Ottamons, and finally the British.
The Cypriots gained their independence from Britain in the 1960's . Of course civil war followed shortly after between the Greek Cypriots and the Turkish Cypriots.
Today it is a divided island with the GC's controlling the Southern 2/3 of the island and the TC's controlling the Northern 3rd.
So much for the history lesson for today.
The US is such a young country. We don't have the history that you find in other countries.
Oh by the way according to mythology this is the birthplace of Aphrodite too!

@Minuteman... What do the local CYP-Turks think of the happenings in the Home Country, and how does it effect them on the Island?

The TC's are fiercely independent and quick to inform you that they are NOT Turkish. Their home country is Cyprus, not Turkey. There is a small contingent of Turkish peace keeping forces on the island but you seldom see them. They stay mainly on thier bases even in the best of times.
What happens in Turkey has little if any ripple effects on Cyprus.
The Turkish Republic of North Cyprus (TRNC) has been a free, independent and self ruled country since 1984. The "Turkish" refers to ethnicity only.
