It did start me thinking about drying cloths with no electricity

I liked this indoor clothes line

 

Here in Amish country, our clothes dryers run on both wind and solar!



We've got a line run across the basement too.

Ironically, that HOA in northeast Ohio that bans clotheslines is only about 10 miles from us...just another example of how people with more money than sense are invading rural America with their little boxes made of ticky-tacky.

Any way you dry yhem. there are drying closets than can be installed next to a fireplace as well.

 

I have an old fashion clothes pin holder and the clothes pins. I cannot believe there are laws against this. I noticed Boulder seems to have issue yet that is supposed to be really environmental loving up there. I think dryers could contribute to global warming, someone should contact Al Gore.

Seriously though, I have a drying rack that I use quite often out on the deck and then I hang the overflow on hangers and space on the shower door frame

 

Great big assed C.B. antenna on my truck works just fine! The wrap around rails of the main deck also work! Thank god I am way south of Bolder, that place has gone all Kalfornia!

 

My mother had clothes lines in the attic for rainy or freezing days. Lots of room and a turbo dryer in the summer. And, nobody can see them.

Outside & inside , PLUS we have a tent on one for winter drying .

I'M not allowed to hang the cloths cuz I put the wife's stuff on the outside twice guys , best way to be the retriever only !!!!

 

I just hang the stuff on anything that's handy and in the sun.. Or from the rafters during the winter.. Need it quick? Laundromat...

 

I hang it on recycled pulling tape.(mule tape). A pulley system is next.

 

I've used a solar dryer for as long as i can remember ---love the smell of sun dried cloths

 

I use something like this clothes drying rack inside most of the time in the summer. It's very light and fragile made out of wood but if I had to use it out in the forest it would be easy to transport by vehicle.

 

This is a bit of a contention in my home. I prefer to dry clothes outside for a multitude of reasons, the wife on the other hand, does not.
So, it comes down to who's doing the laundry usually. I have a 'temp' clothesline on our deck, the line stays in a coiled up storage unit until needed then i pull it out connect to a hook, hang the laundry to dry.
To keep the peace in the home, I'll toss the hang dried clothes in the drier on low for about 10 min, to make them "fluffy" for the wife.
I do plan on putting out perm clothes lines this winter/fall.
Hanging outside - saves money, disinfects clothes (UV-light), etc.

I've never thought about using the attic, may have to try that.

And, my mom would hang clothes out to dry in the MN winters.

 

My Eastern NC neighbors used to give me the strangest looks when I'd hang laundry on the line in the winter. It worked in Michigan, and worked just fine here too.

My only trouble with the clothesline was that it was strung between two pine trees, and the trees were a favorite spot for birds.

 

When I was a kid every house had a clothes line and racks for when the weather was bad. What goes around comes around.
