    When I lived in South Carolina...and worked for the State...there were 8 holidays , and 10 to choose from. You could pick which 8 you wanted.

    This day was one of them...as was May 10th....Confederate Memorial Day..

    I wonder if that is still applicable. Probably not.

    If the South had of won the war I wonder if we would have such a bloated federal government interfering in states rights today. One thing is for sure. We would not have slavery. Slavery was a dying practice long before the civil war broke out. It was a war over states rights not slavery.

    Yep, the Good Guys lost that one. Damned shame that so many people were foolish enough to believe they were fighting to save the country. My Gr. Gr. Grandfather was one of them, and one of the few things I'm ashamed of.

    Another was sitting on a reservation hoping for both sides to lose.
