If I had a nickle for every time someone asked me "you pump ethyl?" when I was a pump jockey....

That's when my mom learned shopping for bargains wasn't worth it ,the gas you spent was more than the savings.
We had several cars and trucks to choose from in the family including the VW bus and bug .
Sometimes move gas from one vehicle to another was necessary . but the crisis didn't last long .
Now dads though i'm paying $2.56-$3.00+ a gallon I still put fuel away for thin times. You have to.

When I was a kid and gas was still 25-35 cents a gallon, 5 bucks would get you 15-20 gallons

    OldDude49 Just n old guy

Used to fill your tank cheap... the gas guzzlers were the norm...

oh kinda off subject... but to me worth mentioning...

some time back... probably 7- 8 years ago... was watching one of those science deep sea thingy's...

had satellite tv bored and seen everything else so was watchin it... so wish I had inserted a vhs tape and recorded the prog cause they were running it back to back as they often do... just a day or so later the prog got changed and this little part was removed...

anyways the guy was running a deep sea ROV that was apparently fully equipped for what he was doing...

the narrative said he came upon this odd under sea chimney spewing this unusual black stuff... he got in close and using the onboard equipment was able to see it was some microorganisms coming out of the chimney and dying when they hit the water...

when they died they immediately decomposed into this stuff...

he took a sample and had it later analyzed... said the report from the lab was the black stuff was crude oil...

    NOW...

some points that drove this home for me... shortly after this I also saw reports of some researchers claiming they could make crude oil out of algae or some such..

    ALSO

started seeing reports of old supposedly depleted oil wells leaking crude oil to the surface...

both of these reports have since pretty much disappeared from in the news...

so seems oil is NOT made of dead trees or dino's... ?

but is a self renewing micro-organism that lives and reproduces within the earth and upon death becomes crude oil...

    hmmm....

there is a large amount of money and power involved here... and if the people were to actually realize just how manipulated the energy crisis is... hmmmm.....

I have been labeled a tinfoil hater over this...

    oh well... [winkthumb]
