My Dad turns 80 this week. He's kind of special to me =) he is feeling old this year. So I put this in his birthday book. We don't do cards we all put in a page to say what we love e about him and these and more were my contribution

I believe those numbers. Back in the day, if you didn't measure up, there were places to put you to work, or fail you out of service. There were some attempts to fail out physically, but those were usually found and corrected as necessary.
The wash out, and the recycle rate when I was in basic was close to 30% . Some were put in the FatBoy program, others had drug issues, and some just didn't have the grey matter! You got ONE chance if you were pulled from regular training, after that, a long buss ride home! We had 6 dudes get pulled because of drug issues in the first 15 days!!! Another 5 were pulled because of gang issues, and the rest were just wash outs! And all this was during the big push for quality over quantity! Then the 10 week trials to earn the right to continue special training and the failure rate was 98%!!! Of the 100 men that entered this cycle, only 3 of us made it through the entire 10 weeks, and then the two year training saw 46 men enter, and only 6 graduate!
well at my age the only thing holding me together is all the scar tissue and being so mean that the dog doesn’t even growl at me and won't come out from under the bed

At 62.5 and tired if the corp bullshit, i am starting a new career in real estate. New to take 2 tests next week and passing each with get me licensed in AZ Never too old to learn something new
When I was young I worked hard and had a great appetite and always worked it off. after certain events ,my activity level changed, but my appetite did not, and it caught up with, and over took me. Working I made a decent wage , and lived with in it good enough, but after retirement having a fraction of that working wage, i've had to cut my expenditures significantly , and like the diet I need to be on , both take a lot of discipline.
