Claims are being made from left and right... a point brought up was who...

"What they didn’t cover in their never-ending article was how they did their “fact-checking.” How did they decide which stories were accurate, and which were false? By comparing hyperpartisan content to CNN?"

interesting article that suggests the MSM may be troubled by such... ?

nice chart... reportedly from the MSM page... not real sure I agree with it....

MSM has been doing some whoppers in the lie department lately... or just ignoring and NOT reporting things they don't want us to hear... so?

I can't believe how little is being covered about the possible threat of nuclear war our country is under.

I have a hard time believing you are worried about that with all the rest of the higher probability problems we face.

UncleMorgan I like peeling bananas and (occasionally) people.

Sometimes I wonder if I shouldn't just go ahead and drink that really nice bottle of wine I've been saving.

The radiation from Fukushima alone may be enough to bring the human race to extinction by disrupting the food chain from the bottom up. And the oxygen cycle. Kill off enough of those little green algae guys in the ocean and pretty soon everyone living at sea level will be breathing like they lived at 20,000 feet. Which is to say "briefly".

And compared to a nuclear war, the radiation release from Fukushima would be like a wee spark in an intercontinental firestorm from Hell.

If we have politicians that are determined to start a start a nuclear war maybe it's time we all acted in self-defense.

I guess I missed something or is ABC News the same as MSNBC (MSM)? I've been out of the country so...call me ignorant. But, I see nothing in the article or chart referencing MSNBC (MSM)? I did snoop around a bit to see who owns what (trying to inform myself) and found a few things of interest...whether they are true or false, I leave to you. In my snooping I could not find anything that specifically stated who owns what that was truly current and concise. The best I found was an 2012 article that stated all news media is now owned by 6 major corporations...but that was 2012. Forbes had an interesting and disturbing piece in June of 2016 titled, "These 15 Billionaires Own America's News Media Companies" and I thought it was current and important enough to post a link at the bottom but a bit lengthy. The below was taken from a PBS outlet and is not current but still imparts some worthy information in few words

"In 1983, 50 corporations controlled most of the American media, including magazines, books, music, news feeds, newspapers, movies, radio and television. By 1992 that number had dropped by half. By 2000, six corporations had ownership of most media, and today five dominate the industry: Time Warner, Disney, Murdoch's News Corporation, Bertelsmann of Germany and Viacom. With markets branching rapidly into international territories, these few companies are increasingly responsible for deciding what information is shared around the world."
"Ben Bagdikian, Pulitzer-prize winning journalist, former Dean of the Graduate School of Journalism at UC Berkeley and author of The New Media Monopoly, describes the five media giants as a “cartel” that wields enough influence to change U.S. politics and define social values."

Got to agree with you there...

@GhostX I am not tracking why you are so worried about a nuclear war btw the USA and Russia. Do you really believe there is anything worth throwing nukes at each other? Syria is more about good old economics, market share and warm water ports than anything else. And, if you have been keeping up with the news you will see that Russia just landed a HUGE economic and political coup with a multi-billion dollar deal with India giving them not only an oil company there but a refinery, plus, a port! Their Northern fleet coming down is nothing more than telling Obama to back off as Putin knows the guy is spineless and on his way out...so why not try to resolve this before the new President is in power? Ukraine? Hell, we knew the Russians were going into the Ukraine just like we knew they were going into Georgia and we did nothing. We have specific satellites that do nothing but watch the Russians. The Ukraine is so trashed economically that no one, not even the USA and EU together can helped them. My guess is Putin will grab the rest of the Ukraine when Hillary gets in and is setting the chess board up now, so the Northern Fleet. Think about it. That fleet does no good up North if he pushes into the Ukraine...has nothing to do with Syria is my guess.

So, I am not tracking why you are so spun up about a nuclear war? The USA is war weary, we have been bled dry of cash and blood from the past 15 years of conflict. There is no real honest to goodness reason for us to be mucking around in Syria and in truth we don't care about them. Hell, look how long it has taken to arm a few of them and finally fly some missions. But, now it is about face saving...and they do not want to play that game with Russia, not while Putin is at the helm. Hell, he is holding the moral high ground against a war weary nation lead by a bunch of incompetents. It's payback time for all that sanction crap. Al-Assad is a dictator that at least keeps stability or is the USA in the business of realm changing and if so then we might want to start with our own.
EDIT: And, let's not forget that missile defense system in Romania and the new one in Poland. They want that gone - period. So, now is the time to make political hay and give the USA a black eye while at the same time bring us back to the bargaining table.

I have never trusted any news media, for over 60 years .
The are there for entertainment, not sharing facts.
IF they cared about facts they wouldn't speculate. "ever"

If war is declared before the elections, Obama will stay in office, martial law will likely be instated, UN forces will likely flood every major city in the US, known "trouble makers" will be loaded up on busses or shot and masses of people will be sent to FEMA camps. I realize my paranoia level seems to be a little heightened on my speculations of the future but that tends to happen when I have estimated the probability of such happenings above 60%. I consider myself a survivor to the core and I want to prepare for whatever may challenge my survival. If doing so is really that unreasonable then I don't know what to tell you. I just don't want to find myself in a position where I'm wishing I had done more to prepare myself.

@GhostX No, of course it's not unreasonable and being prepared is always prudent in everything. But, I did watched and listened to all the videos with an open mind. But, I freely admit I didn't believe a word coming out of Hillary's mouth about anything and I never will. The Cyber wars have been going for some time now, nothing new. And, I am sure you know about how we used it against Iran to set them back years on their nuclear research, As far as the Russians being ready "to fight and win a conventional war" - well - maybe yes and maybe no. What are they suppose to say especially considering we have neutralized their nuclear capabilities (that's a theory)? But, a nuclear war which destroys them as well as us and the Europeans? Putin is smart, real smart. I honestly think he will go down in Russian history as the most famous of all Russians. Why would he start a nuclear war where he loses even if he wins? Conventional war? Possibly. But, look at the facts... He invaded Georgia and we and NATO did nothing. He invaded the Ukraine and we and NATO did nothing. So, what is going to cause the conventional war, the spark, the catalyst? Syria? Really? We are willing to go to war with Russia over some screwed up minor country in the Middle East when we didn't go to war in Eastern Europe? I just don't see it. Remember, wars are political as well as physical and the American people have to be willing to support a conflict. And, a war over the middle east with Russia will not have support at home, certainly not a nuclear war. This is my opinion but I honestly understand your concern and certainly mean no offense. My greatest concern is Economic Collapse which I think is not far off while others laugh at me for such an idea.

Oh! One last thing... Why do you think they would place UN forces within the United States if we were to go to war and fall under Martial Law? People talk about this all the time but to me I cannot understand their reasoning. A foreign armed force on our nation's shores? Really? First, the populous would never accept such a thing and it would cause a HUGE social/political fallout which is exactly what they do not want in a time of war. Hell, it might truly cause a revolution and they know this. And, what UN forces would come here? Pakistan forces? India and Pakistan are always at odds, in truth, it's a constant war. The United States is tremendous in size and the amount of troops it would take to just patrol and enforce it would take a massive effort in materials alone which would better be spent on the war. Beside, Pakistan would not deplete itself that much for fear of India gaining an upper hand. And, if not Pakistan then who? Can't be European countries because first they are in NATO so more than likely they will be allied and on the battlefield with us and second, they just wouldn't put their troops in such dire straits for no good reason especially when there are open hostilities happening elsewhere. No, to me it doesn't seem to pass the logic test.

That, as you know and @GhostX should know, is strictly tin foil hat material. Even the MSM doesn't go there, the "alternative" "news" outlets are the ones pushing the silliness. That the MSM hangs up on the latest dirt digging and yellow journalism, then ignores real news, is the thrust of OPs commentary, and I have to at least partially agree.

@GhostX most of that is posturing for the behind the scenes deals being made. The idiots are all bluffing each other. I wouldn't worry about nuclear.... except for the ocean fish coming out of the pacific from the Japanese nuclear disaster. just don't eat the fish!
