Finally the end is in sight! (Pun intended. LOL) I have cataract surgery scheduled today as the final step in the repair of my detached retina. This saga started back in mid May and today is the last major step in getting everything taken care of. I'll have a follow up visit with eye doc tomorrow and should receive final eye glasses prescription in a month or so. Prayers welcome. Kajun
The surgery is over and went well. Hooray! I have follow up visit tomorrow and will wear an eye patch until then. The doc and nurses all said it went well. Guess we'll see tomorrow (pun intended! LOL) Thanks for good wishes and prayers. Kajun
TxKajun, Best of luck and not to worry as this stuff is standard procedure now. We do want to hear your success story upon completion.
Glad it all worked out . Before you buy specs to see , use off the shelf glasses if you can . They suckered me into glasses & change every 6 months while my eyes healed . Then I went to London Optical & had my both eyes reworked . one year heal till 105% I see 20-15 now & need readers to read text unless in outside in the sun.
You didn't need that foggy glob of goop in there anyway... The glass replacement thingy should be way better but weird with street lights... Drive slow at night till you get it figured out. Laggy prayers sent. MG
The eye is free! Got the patch and bandage removed about 3 hours ago and there is a HUGE improvement. No more blurriness, no black curtain moving from nose to outside of eye, no more bubble to see through. Whew. It's not as good as I had hoped, though. Vision is still not well focused and there is a slight hour glass shape to everything. Drat. But the doc says it'll improve a bunch over the next month or so up to six months. I sure hope so! I asked how I was supposed to handle my glasses and he suggested I remove the left lens to let the eye regain its function naturally,. My latest glasses have a little filament around the bottom the stretches a tiny bit when heated so I heated it and the lens popped out. We'll see. Several things I have to do that are going to be hard: no bending at all, no lifting things and sleep on my back or right side while wearing an eye shield at night. The eye shield is only for the next week. I have a follow up visit in a week. But I have vision in left eye again and it's not blurry. Thank you, Jesus! Kajun P.S. I am not supposed to cook, either. Torture!!
Am pleased that all augurs well for the continued improvement in your eyesight. You are fortunate to have a highly competent surgical team working for you, and the benefits of modern medical science. (Fixed it for ya chelly - ghrit) Thank you, apostrophe man!
After a kind of rough night sleeping last night (never realized how much I sleep on my left side LOL), it seems my vision has improved, at least a bit. I have binocular vision back plus depth perception. Whew! I went for a drive today to vote and had no problems. Hopefully things will continue to improve. Major relief! Kajun
