Put this solar together for our off grid homestead, 800w, just a simple wood box, the solar panels frame made out of Superstrut
Yes, a video is allowed... and even encouraged, here... if you have any issues with doing that PM a Moderator....
Lovely idea, now just park it in a buried steel steel quonset hut and should be all set for almost anything. Probably don't have a lot more invested than one of those "solar power units" with one of two solar cells and a couple of batteries. Thank you for sharing and inspiring more of us to get off our a**** and do something.
Thank you My pleasure, for us was a must, can't leave the solar behind while not at the off grid homestead
Nice strong steel construction, dont forget to have separate tie downs for the trailer and the panels frame, dont want high winds tipping it over,
Great point, indeed last thing I want is this tipping on me, the whole thing weight over 1200 lb, was thinking in stabilizer jacks, also have to ground everything that's next.
I like what you've done . I had built a 19' shop trailer and installed my solar panels on it, along with a wind mill .
IMO ,putting solar on a trailer is the most practical method, because if you must bug out , or simply move to another part of the country , your can take your solar with you. I have more panels ,but they are set aside in the event I need to hook up to the truck and live in the camper .
You are ready to go, i like the wind set up too!! What kind of turbine is that? What is the output? Would you recommend this turbine? Thanks in advance...
Ran me over $500. 600 watt. Mixed emotions over this one. The mill it's self is OK. The electronics mounting inside the controller leave something to be desired, but they work. Fuse mounting is lose. it's never blown the fuse but the connection is loose inside , I'll take it apart after the warranty time is spent. I just as soon fix it my self ad save the aggravation of shipping rather then than let them. The mill needed assembly, which is fine but, The nut provided for holding the hub was the wrong thread . though they sent 2 sets of fasteners, two wrong nuts don't make it work. I happen to have the correct nut /thread for it ,in my own reserves. In stead of keying the shaft they made a flat on it much too large taking away from the diameter of the correct thread size. I'll look up the name brand when I get home. There is a lack of information on it's switching program, but tinkering I've got it working satisfactory . I would never buy any thing more from these people.
