Second Amendment When did you last Carry?!

I carry every time I go further then the front door and have enough iron stashed in the house that there is not a problem getting to something if there is a problem.

 

I put my gun on every morning when I wake, and I take it off every night when I go to bed, it never leaves my side, and hopefully, never will! The wife and I have adopted a certain hug to avoid getting a butt in the ribs, and she often jokes about it when she forgets! She carries almost as much as I, and that is a good thing, I know she will always have my back as I will always have hers! Dangerous times, and danger comes with out notice! Maybe a bit off topic, but have any of you switched up your carry piece? Bigger Caliber, or larger capacity? I have, and I was kind of surprised that I came to the conclusion that I should! I carry a Double Stack 10 mm auto with 17+1. I used to carry 8+1 single stack .45 with a .380 Auto as back up, unless I was wearing skinny shorts, then the .380 was all I carried! Funny, My friends and I joke that what we used to carry every day, is now the back up piece to what we carry now! Any one carry a Rifle? Have one close at hand? I carry one over my shoulder when hiking, and I carry it in my rig when ever I go to town! I never had reason before to do this, but the last 8 years made me decide I might need it, More likely then a pistol even!!!

 

Where I live we don't have to worry about this Libtard rioting bullshit and before that there have not been any problems because most people carry here. I have changed from carrying my P-11 9mm all the time to now bringing a G-29 with a 15 round mag more often, wife also carries a G-27 with a 15 round mag, we both have extra mags. Rifles are always included in vehicles if we travel further then into town for supplies.

 

If I had a G-42 (Glock .380) I would carry in my office even though policy says no-no. If I had a G-21sf (Glock 45) I would carry that everywhere else, and should I come across an 870 Marine Magnum, that would always be in the truck. Maybe someday....

 

I switched ( for now ) to a Ruger LCR .357 with Crimson Trace green laser. My 1911, and my S&W 9mm, and my S&W 686, and my Taurus Judge, and my ( well you get it ) are all too heavy to keep from pulling my pants down even with a good carry belt. And at 44 I'm just not ready to join the suspenders crowd. I just got the green laser a couple of weeks ago. If you decide to add a laser to a handgun, I definitely recommend spending a few more dollars and get the green laser. It is clearly visible on targets in full sunlight. My old red laser was great in the dark or low light conditions, but the green is way brighter.

 

Do I carry, when do I carry, where is my weapon, may I carry? OPSEC determines all of that. At home or in the woods open carry, other times concealed carry with license, other times in checked luggage or in car. At times going into the Peoples Republic of Massholes, I don't have access to a firearm. Don't go there unless I have to. Guess I can't give a simple answer. Carry to protect myself, but include not going to jail as part of what I want to protect myself from. Starting to see at least a few cases with jury trials where the gov dosen't always win in firearm related trials. Hope it becomes the rule and protecting our rights

 

My employer does not believe in citizens having guns other then for hunting purposes. I have permission to bring a gun to work but no bullets. It is a dilemma that I have not quite worked out.

 

If I leave the house I carry. At home I have several easy access handguns and a 12 ga. pump (18" barrrel) loaded with 00 buck. I consider the sign at gun free zone's as only a suggestion.

 

The officer was saying "shoot him" I'd be like "which one". Jk. Good job citizen.

I carried on Sunday, cant carry during the week, against company policy to have a weapon on site UNLESS fully visible in vehicle and a long gun.......

 

Lol, I'm the guy from Texas yet I seem to be the only one who has never owned a gun. I live in a small town that's never really been prone to trouble or disturbances. Honestly, it's probably one of the friendliest places in Texas but that might have something to do with the fact that at least 75% of the residential population of this town carries daily.

I have noticed some sketchy characters moving here lately though. Just yesterday this Mexican dude with tattoos on his face jump out in front of me while I was riding my bike. I said "excuse me" as I was trying to pass him but he stood in my way saying "What you gonna do? What you gonna do?" as he was looking down at my bike. I didn't say anything, I just found a hole and rode past him.

I've never experienced anything like that before but it definitely has opened my eyes. I'm for sure going to ride with a can of mace easily accessible from now on... at least. It's definitely time to get myself a gun.

 

@Ura-Ki Yes, I stopped carrying my Kahr (7+1) for my Glock 19 (15+1) after the San Bernardino incident with two shooters. It opened my eyes that, more than likely, there will be more than one bad guy in any situation. You will be very lucky if it is only one. So, it's the Glock and an extra magazine in my pants pocket. I took the Combat Hand courses this past summer so know the tricks to speed switch magazines and I practice every Sunday in the house while the wife is at church. It was drummed into my head in those courses that you are doing the correct thing, Uka-ki, by getting up and immediately putting on your firearm. We were given loads of examples but sadly I still don't do it. I have guns placed strategically within my house and of course sleep with it and 1000 lumen flashlight by the bed. Actually, the flashlight is more than that as it's a big Dewatt blinding thing.

I do have a holdout or 2nd gun. It is a Glock 43 (7+1 due to an extension) but I honestly never carry two guns. I figure if it gets that bad then I will start carrying my second Glock 19 as I have two of them or even the AR. The 43 is more for the wife as she has small hands but I am her armorer/maintainer. Hey! She does the cooking so I don't mind! My cooking is toxic...

I never go anywhere without carrying a gun and frankly I carry it into stores where I guess I am not suppose to do so but...the hell with them. They can always ask me to leave. That's the way I feel about it. I suppose I could be fined but this is gun country and I don't think store managers mind so much and in fact I know one major chain manager that specifically looks the other way as he doesn't agree with the store's policy.

I live in Northern Idaho and like @Mountainman and others here it's pretty darn safe as everyone and their grandmothers carry. And, I do mean that literary... It is a normal thing to go to Home Depot or even when emptying garbage at County dump to see someone openly carrying as it's a Constitutional Carry State. Recently, I was at Lowe's and a guy next to me turned in a tight corner and banged his gun (under his jacket) against a rack making a loud metal noise and we both had a good laugh as I said, "I hate it when I do that." Everyone carries here.

So, yes, I carry every time I walk out the door and I practice every other Sunday at the range down the road from me. I would practice more but ammo isn't cheap... Everyone carries here which is why it's the most safe place I have every lived and I wouldn't live anywhere else.

 

If I leave the house, I carry, and I continue to carry everywhere it is not expressly prohibited by law. At home, I don't typically carry because I dress down and don't have a belt to support it - but I keep it readily accessible nearby, though out of sight. If the doorbell rings, I get it in my hand. If I see someone near my home that shouldn't be there, I get it in my hand. I live in an area with a pretty low crime rate, but I'm not stupid enough to believe it can't happen to me. It can happen, anywhere, any time to anyone.
