Way cool, @Ganado But from the Thread Title, I thought you would be explaining how our "Political SnowFlakes" were being made in their DIY Dreamworld....[lolol]

Likewise, was looking for a diaper pin etc. Teacher had us do those in a one room schoolhouse with 8 grades. Funny, even the first graders got sharp scissors and they were a lot of fun. I am still amazed at the results you can get with a multiple folded piece of paper and cutting it.

Those are very pretty. I have made these before but never thought to draw a pattern on the paper first. The kids and I just cut and hope for the best. We hang them in the picture window. I will try and replicate a few of the patterns you posted.

I think we will make this weekend. I have to make sure I can find the fiskars, those are the only scissors to use. I recall the kids when they were little using those horrible kid scissors.

Just stay away from the barber scissors...I shoot people at my house when they use them for paper and then the scissors pull my beard hairs.

Swedish stars are also beautiful and can be made from anythjng. I think the prettiest ones are made from willow and maple twigs but I have made them from newspaper folded into strips

@Ura-Ki would you post some of your wife's creations? would love to see them

I have one corner I hang a snowflake cluster made from wire coat hangers and just string snowflakes from. looks like it's snowing in the corner. I'll try to remember to post it when I'm done.

We also make one ornament per year to commemorate that year. Christmas brings lots of food memories and laughs

Okay, so, learned a few things doing the first one. Took about 15 minutes.
    • SHARP scissors are a MUST
    • Small scissors wouldn't hurt
    • You need an x-acto knife or a sharp utility knife
    • Do the MIDDLE first
      • If you screw up, you have room to fix it when cutting the outside
      • You have MUCH more to hold onto when cutting the "detail"
And understanding "pics or it never happened" and/or
