I don't know if Russia allows one to hold two passports but I know America doesn't...even though I know many new American citizens that refuse to give up there old country passport due to Health Care. Anyway, I saw this on Fox and thought it quite funny as Seagal now holds a Russian passport.

Seagal, is an old fat actor that can't get a job in Hollywood, let Russia keep him, in fact let them have all the "actors" that have stated that they will leave the USA if Trump wins, and oh by the way, no VISAs will be issued for you to come back to America to "act"...

This is not correct. An American citizen can have dual citizenship. The US ain't overly crazy about it. But, it is allowed. Back in 2006, I had considered securing dual citizenship, by becoming a citizen of Australia. I never went through with it, though.

He, Seagal, was granted dual citizenship by Putin.

He and Putin, apparently, have worked together regarding martial arts in the past? Something along those lines anyway.

Glad he has a (potential) new home. He was a true donkey (my apologies to any donkeys here :) ) when he was working with the JP Sheriff's Office, and just about everyone was happy to see him leave.

In the distant past (no, I can't remember when this changed) you had to renounce citizenship in the land of your birth in order to gain citizenship in the US. That changed and there is a list of countries that you can immigrate from and get dual-citizenship with the US. France is one (had a boss from France doing just that). That being said, I no of no US statute that requires you to renounce your US citizenship in order to gain a citizenship elsewhere.

Really! I stand corrected. Hmmm...also nice to know as does open some doors for me. If it is a work visa for old Seagal which is no big deal or even dual citizenship which really means nothing but...good propaganda! You got to love it. Nobody plays the game as well as the Russians.

I disliked the Russians (Soviet Union) and really hated them when I was in the military!

But, this news makes me sad for them! :(

Why? I don't understand. What this says is things are so bad in the USA that the Americans are coming to Russia. You can bet your last penny that is how it is being played in mother Russia.

On another note, the Soviet Union really was a hoax and what I mean by that is most of the Soviet Union hated the Russians (and still do!). The only ones that liked it was the Russians because they were on top...but those days are gone. Yet, they still make major inroads on geographic parts of the planet such as Central Asia which they have tied up now with the death of Uzbekistan president (who was one vicious SOB) and the departure of the US. For example, how many has heard the recent deal between India and Russia? It is SUPER major but in our world of Hollywood glitter and Superbowl and Facebook it got very little play on the news outlets. They bought an entire port and oil refinery and a lot of other things... It's a huge deal. Game changer in the region and has huge military significance. Ahhh the Soviets...those were the good old days....and certainly much easier. But Putin is much smarter than any of those old commies, much, much smarter and he has just got started.

How did we end up with so damned many misanthropists on the Monkey? Russians, French, Germans, Mexicans, anybody from anywhere in the Middle East? I have been fortunate enough to have traveled all over this planet without having to wear a uniform and take orders from anyone and have met some really wonder people everywhere, have seen amazing beauty, have worked side by side with people that support entire families on less money per year than my wrist-watch costed, have dined and slept with them in their homes, I do not like generalizations. People everywhere are individuals with worth and value to someone.
