www.RWVA.ORG somebody here mentioned this;I just spent a couple of hours there. Interesting useful site good info on shooting skills and good ideas to help ensure freedoms......

My only caveat: they emphasize developing marksmanship skills and equipment to engage human enemy between 300-500 yards to put the "rifleman" outside effective range of 5.56. unfortunately I don't see too many battles conveniently on fields that large and open during shtf or civil war. However: the skills aregood at any range .

BUT they also advocate exsposing all american's to shooting as part of fulfilling their duty as citizens of a democracy.and forming 3 man civilian rifles squads to guarantee our freedoms. :) They sponsor matches/shoots

Please explore the siteand the ideas presented there....

Anyway.... I visited there myself Tango, I like their overall idea very much. I understand them thinking you need to be accurate past M16 range in case it's our own your fighting, but if it is our own, your in a world 'o hurt and a couple hundred extra yards will not save your butt.

agreed, I liked the idea of open shoots and spreading the word on the constitution andwhy its important to stand for our rights and no I don't want to duke it out with our own,I think alot of that is fantasy , the shooting skills make real good refresher and I know I need more dry fire and live practice..I'm not real sure what mr byrd meant...:)

Well NATO uses 5.56mm, not just our own. So while thaty would be useful if practical, if some of our own troops went renegade and/or were following illegal orders (the only 2 real reasons why would need to worry about them) but ALSO if NATO troops decided we should be disarmed under some UN resolution or some such crap they would also be shooting 5.56 most of the time.

Well, if "they" are taking hits from a "sniper" out past 300yards,"they" are gonna use one squad to lob in supressing fire ad use a second squad to advance on your position while your head is down, Or lob in a mortor, arty, or tank round or call in an apache in which case you're are going to resemble swiss cheese...It doesnt do any harm to shoot well , but have no fantasies...If we ever get into that kind of acenario it will be bloody, youi'll just fight til you're stopped, don't plan on seeing the ending...Look at how many iraqis are killed everyday, we are still there. One day we will pull out,.

Seeing both the begining and end would be unlikely, it would only be a matter if forced into thattype of situation of trying to be able to do as much good as one could on the way out.
