Mall Rioting on Boxing Day

The day after Christmas is known as Boxing Day but yesterdays events give new meaning. Malls in at least 9 states had to close or evacuate due to fights breaking out. Officials are saying this was coordinated and are pointing the finger at social media. Whatever the blame, here in Colorado we had about 500 thugs show up on one of the busier shopping days and start brawling. Disgusting behavior.

I know some Monkeys would never step foot in a mall or do not live near a mall but this is a lesson for some who do. Family, friends of ours also frequently shop the mall and this is a great news story that can be turned into a situational awareness/ survival lesson.

I think Offgrid Survival did an amazing job writing about yesterdays events. The whole article is a good read.

Someone probably said free big screen TV's at Fry's and when they got there, None to be found, might as well kick someone's A$$

I was at the mall a couple of times last week. One thing I noticed was the elderly. During the winter months, the elderly walk shopping malls to get exercise. I just do not think these young thugs would care about the innocent bystanders as they rioted. 500 youths fighting is huge.

    Malls?

    Heck fire.

Here in Cambodia, like in most Third World Nations, they have large public, open-air markets. (These are the closest thing we have to a mall, in some areas.) I haven't even stepped into the ones here since living in Battambang. I wouldn't know how to act, if I saw a proper mall!

My father lived in Florida. Also used a mall for exercise, it was bloody hot in Nokomis all year long or so he said.

It is claimed that freakbook and twitter trigger and or are used to coordinate there things.

Yet another validation for us avoiding the various "social" media platforms like the plague.
Avoiding malls and large public gatherings is on the top of our list of places to avoid, can't carry enough ammo:LOL:

OK, folks, you have to be in the mall for any of several reasons in spite of avoiding it most of the time. A riot breaks out, what are you going to do? Are you armed or not, and would that make any difference in your actions? (Yes, I have a plan, will tip you off later.)

Don't use wasp spray. It's a fed. offense to use the spray inconsistent with it's labeled usage. Unless of course you have a sticker that you can slap on the can that adds "Spray directly into eyes and mouth of attacker"

Hint: Where is the most secure place in the publicly accessible areas of a mall?

Bathrooms would be the first thing that come to mind, since the stalls have locking doors, other than that, I'm not sure

You can do MUCH better, keep thinking.

Another hint: Shops/offices that have their own security--

It's been too long since I've been to a mall, I don't know what they have besides bathrooms. The info booth?
