I don't see this currently listed here, but wanted to make sure folks that have an interest in signing this, are aware of it. It's a simple petition, directed to the White House (on the official petition website) to repeal the NFA. Longshot? Probably. But with the current administration and makeup of congress, who knows, maybe it could happen?

I know there is already a bill proposed to remove suppressors from the NFA, this petition goes farther and asks for a full repeal.

If you are interested, click the link below, fill in your information, then be sure to respond to the confirmation email you'll receive shortly thereafter.

As of today, 2/10/17, there are 9 days left and it still needs over 12,000 signatures to meet the 100,000 signature requirement. Will you join the other 88,000 who have signed so far to try and encourage the White House to loosen the restrictions around our necks?

Here is the link: Repeal the NFA | We the People: Your Voice in Our Government

And before anyone says it, yes, I know some folks are concerned about getting on lists, etc. As far as I'm concerned, I know full well the .GOV can find me anytime they want, and it's a certainty they already know I'm a gun owner.

Thanks to anyone who can help this process, and if you are up to it, please share with friends, family and on any other forums you may be on.

But the question is can Fed trump States? The repeal of the 30 round magazine ban got shot down again here in CO.

Nope.... In CO, it is a 15 round limit, which is looking like it just might be repealed, in the Legislature, this session... If the NFA was repealed, then it will all be up to State Statutes... Which is just fine with me....

Well the CO DemonRats just KILLED the Magazine Repeal Proposal, again....

I suspect that MA and MD residents might not be quite so fine.

If you have NFA weapons you might as well. It's not like they don't already have every last bit of your information.

    "...shall not be infringed."

This goes for States as well as Federal "Government". I will not support illegitimate government, especially fascist government. That's all I have to say, and all that needs to be said.

Once a Fed Law gets over turned, the states must honor it if it is written into the existing states constitution ether supporting or dissenting! But as we have seen, States are not following Constitutional law any way, so what's the point!?!?!?

From what I've been able to find, most states follow federal law when it comes to the NFA. I understand some states, like WA, which are planning to enact some kind of ban on suppressors, will buck the system, it could be a good thing for the rest of the country. What I would hope to see if the NFA were repealed, just as an example, would be many more people buying suppressors. The more folks own them, the easier it is to make a case that they are "common", and thus become harder to ban/restrict when challenged in court.

I know that's hoping for a lot, but there isn't a whole lot we as individual citizens can do. This is one thing we can at least try to support. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't, but one thing is for certain - if we don't try it, it definitely won't happen.

Update - I just checked the link - 3,000 more signatures since I posted my OP this this morning!! Now only about 9,000 away from this going in for review!! Sounds like folks are getting the word!

Great post bringing this out here! I for one have been shot gunning this to every one I know and they have followed through and passed it on as well! NFA isn't my thing, it has no real effect on my needs or desires, BUT, it is freedom were talking about so I damn well will support it any way I can!

Checked in today, over 100,000! That means it will go into the queue for review by the White House. Not holding my breath, but with the new administration, maybe something good will come of it!
