    Re: Corporate Control & SURVIVAL

Basically what I was trying to say is:

No matter what happens, if they try to OVER-REGULATE us all to death, or try to not let us raise animals, or grow our own FOOD...

DO YOU KNOW WHAT TO EAT FROM THE BACKWOODS TO SURVIVE???
    I KNOW I DO! [rockon]

(Who doesn't have standards when it comes to FOOD, FOOD IS FOOD no matter WHAT SHAPE OR FORM. I doubt many could handle eating how we eat...)

I don't drink milk much anymore due to the high rate of shigella in store brands. I use carrot juice. The Ark Institute sells heirloom seeds kits, they are on my list for this month's purchase. I've been trying to dry out seeds that we get out of organic tomatoes. Same with other seed producers we get. They want all the water, food money and control. Barter is on it's way back in.

Wilderness gal sounds like you are pretty squared away, you should write up all your hard won knowledge and make $30.00 a copy... :)

I have told her the same thing, I started to write a book a couple of years ago but I can't make the knowledge sound as good as she does on papper. If I could get her to do it maybe I could quit my stupid job [winkthumb]

    Re: Writing a book, & FREEDOM/HAPPINESS

Tango3, I'll tell ya I've thought about it, but we can "GET SO BUSY!" lol
Then I am also a GEMINI (<--whose into too many things/projects)
Ya know when I was a wee little girl, I was sooooooooo very shy, never said a word. Many thought I was the sweetest mute girl!?!?! lol In school I had so many folk walk all over me, or threaten to kill me/beat me up...
There just came a point where I came out of my shell. What really did it for me was the day I almost died... When you end up near deaths door, that'll change ALOT of things/give you a new perspective on LIFE!
LIFE IS SO VERY SHORT... MAKE WISE DECISIONS, BE PREPARED FOR THE WORST/HOPE FOR THE BEST, DON'T EAT ALOT OF POOP IF YA CAN AVOID IT, & LIFE IS WHAT YOU MAKE OF IT!
What I've learned is BY SERIOUSLY CUTTING BACK ON SPENDING, you don't have to ENSLAVE YOURSELF SO MUCH, & WILL HAVE LOTS MORE QUALITY TIME TO ENJOY HOWEVER YOU WISH/WITH YOUR FAMILY!
For me/us THE SACRIFICES ARE WELL WORTH IT... I hope that our child will really appreciate all of our hard work/labour to give her a positive simple lifestyle, filled with LOTS of familytime/love & high quality natural foods to eat so that she will always be healthy! :)

    Alrighty friends,
Time to hit the hay as I am beat tonight...
    Keep HAPPY, HEALTHY & SAFE

Re: Attempting to learn during S.H.T.F. isn't wise....

Many people say what you have said above, but spending is SPENDING & it does ADD UP. If anything you should PRACTICE BY DOING, 'cause one day (in the event of an emergency or disaster or???) you will not be EXPERIENCED ENOUGH to have SUCCESS, and it could be bad if it's a life or death situation don't ya think? I personally don't believe that "WHEN T.S.H.T.F. IS THE BEST TIME TO LEARN!!!! Practice makes perfect & if ya don't take the time to learn you are totally putting yourself at risk. :(
I guess everyone has their own version of "WHAT THEY CALL A SURVIVALIST", but to me knowledge and practice in all areas is part of being prepared & surviving whatever comes your way.

We have done some ofit and have seed around but we also have a bonus since we know Falcon dance who is only about 2 or 3 miles away and is the real gardener of our bunch.[winkthumb] I do agree though that we should be doing more on that front as well as some others, just havent gotten to all of the things yet that would put us in the position we might like to be in. I think that even if we do save seed we would most likely still buy some of the stuff as started plants just because we dont really have the room inside to start as much as we want and with the starts get to start harvesting fresh stuff from the garden sooner.
