Any other fans of Star Trek out there?

Now keep in mind, I'm not the "dress up and speak Klingon" type fan, although I have no problem with those that take it that far.

I've been a fan since childhood when I'd set my alarm at 11pm so I could get up and watch the original series reruns on school nights on my little black and white 13" tv without my parents knowing, probably 1975 ish.

Love the Original Series as cheesy as they are.

Loved The Next Generation, liked Deep Space Nine, Loved Voyager.

    Absolutely Hated Enterprise.

I like the original (still), though the newer Klingons and Borg are pretty cool. I still want a tribble.

I've had a client for 10 or 12 years who has been a Star Trek collecticle dealer for the past 40 yrs and was one of the few original collectors who turned their hobby into a business. At one of the first Star Trek conventions, he designed and conducted the first light show. When I met him, he was located in CT and had his office/stock/shipping in his house. I didn't know anything about Star Trek but I did learn although I never got bitten by the Star Trek bug. He relocated to Lake Mary, FL about 18 months ago but I'm still in touch with him and do still do some consulting for him, just no accounting. His name is Jeff Maynard, New Eye Studio and his web address is http://www.neweyestudio.com and his email is warp10@mybizz.net.

    He's got everything.

I love star trek. We havent seen a new movie for ages, haven't seen any new TV episodes for nearly as long also. The reason is that those who took over from Roddenberry rarely had inspirational fire like Gene did.

    JUST MY 2 CENTS

Enterprise was boring. DS9 was a waste of airspace.

I agree with those that took over for Roddenberry (Rick Berman) had no clue what Star Trek was really about.

DS9 - I warmed up to it after a while, there was some great writing later on but the serialized format they used (Which Gene never wanted) made it hard to follow (or care) if you missed a few episodes.

Enterprise - I think was not only boring, but it was sacrilege. They blew so many holes in Trek canon it was ridiculous. From the moment I heard the opening intro song, I was disgusted.

Ok....I used to watch it way back when...The original...and liked some of the movies....But would not consider myself a "trekkie" by a long shot..

    My brother, however is..

Any trekkies out there need to check this site out....New episodes of original Trek...trying to break in to the business...and they are way cool! I even got in to watching them....Really good...

and if you have dial up? Don't even try it.... NO!!
