Does anyone have any experience/input on the Anderson AM10 Hunter rifle? Also, the RF85 treatment?

I am looking at the possibly getting one of them for coyotes in the thick brush.

Hi Tack, sounds like a decent rifle, does it take AR10 mags or modified M14? I don't know if I would trust the no oil thing in an AR platform but it shouldn't hurt the rifle. I have bought a few ARs from Anderson over the years and have had zero issues with them and the price is usually about half of what some of the better known manufacturers charge. I've gotten stripped AR lowers for under $50.00 from them. Let us know what you think of the rifle, might be interested in one myself.

It takes the AR .308 mags. Waiting for it now. Have yet to read one bad review on anything from Anderson. The no lube thing is what most interests me....will see how well that theory works...

Might do a review on it.....not worried about OPSEC, have enough NFA fingerprint cards on file to make that point moot.

Agree with Sea, have no experience with their .308 but have had no issues with any of their AR stuff I've used. Call me old fashioned but I would never run any weapon, esp an AR type, completely dry. Good luck with it!

Interesting FireArm.... Now if they built one with a 26" Stainless Bull Barrel....

Looks like a good rifle, but I don't like the rail. I'm looking forward to the review.

I've heard positives and negatives about RF85. IIRC from one article I read they found it works until you put oil on it, then after that it needs oil. Also, is an optional treatment for their completed rifles, so you have to make sure you buy one that's treated. No parts like lowers are sold with the treatment.

    A couple of torture tests:

Hm. Some helpful soul will oil it for you when they see (or hear) it's running dry. Might's well start with oil, sez me and maybe me only.

Sorry guys, I couldn't do it. The lack of a dust cover was what made me change my mind. Cancelled the order and ordered an APF .308 instead.

The lack of oil was a concern as well, but no dust cover is a deal breaker. I would be a hypocrite after spending years making troops keep them closed.

How about a review of the APF instead?

Also no forward assist. Looking forward to your review - this is the first time I've heard about Alex Pro Firearms.

    Build ya up one Bruce!
There are a couple of places where you can get a 26" barrel. I chose to go with a 24" but I've seen the 26" out there.
