Wild boars overrun Islamic State position, kill 3 militants

Three Islamic State militants setting up an ambush in a bitterly contested area of northern Iraq were killed by a herd of stampeding boars, local leaders say.

Sheikh Anwar al-Assi, a chief of the local Ubaid tribe and supervisor of anti-ISIS forces, told The Times of London the militants were hiding on the edge of a field about 50 miles southwest of Kirkuk when the boars overwhelmed them Sunday. Five other militants were injured, al-Assi said. He said the group was poised to attack a band of local tribesmen who had fled to nearby mountains since militants seized the town of Hawija three years ago.

“It is likely their movement disturbed a herd of wild pigs, which inhabit the area as well as the nearby cornfields,” he said.

Al-Assi said the militants had summarily executed 25 people attempting to flee the militant's would-be caliphate in the three days before the boars attacked. Hawija, about 100 miles south of Mosul, sees dozens of residents flee to Kurdish Kirkuk daily, and the Iraqi military has planned to launch an offensive in the region after a laborious effort to liberate Mosul is completed.

Well this is what happens when wild animals lose all fear of humans. The exact reason I eat bacon! No pig is going to run over ME and live to talk about it!

I do wonder whether the same enthusiasm and amusement might have been expressed had a number of IDF soldiers had been similarly attacked injured and/or killed by wild pigs, given the Levitical prohibitions concerning Pigs and Pork?

I do understand the schadenfreude element to the banter...but it's as silly to believe that the daesh extremist's supposed religious defilement, and imagined exclusion from paradise (and any supposedly promised virgins), is any more real than the idea of an afterlife paradise,(or even a heaven for that matter) in the first place.

That the daesh fighters are dead is a good outcome, the manner of their extinction is immaterial, other than for the sniggering sh!ts and giggles value of it for some here apparently.

With all due respect, I would pose @Gator 45/70's question to you as well.
While I wasn't born in the South, I have learned much about the wild pigs since arriving. It is my understanding that these critters have never been afraid of humans, esp when with young or when cornered and or wounded. I equate them to a 300 pound badger. They ain't scared of jack shit and WILL eat yer ass if not put down most ricky tic. The ones around here at least are very aggressive and I have no problem making sure there is ample distance between them and me when I hunt them.

No...double 0 buck has worked well for me. I surprised them before they could surprise me. The property manager was happy with the result, if a little alarmed initially....they were rooting around well within gunshot earshot of the homestead.

Those were not always wild boars....only a few years ago they were Kekistani livestock before being overrun by Tail E-Ban Cucks. I'm sure the would have come home to root even if the area was unlawfully held by Normistani Fleecekeepers.
