Asteroid NOT going to hit Earth?

I have heard of this for the last few years, and am starting to believe that maybe they are trying to hard to convince us that there will not be a collision. This is bigger than the one that made the crater in Arizona, and will pass closer to the earth than what the GPS satelites are currently orbitting at. Something to think about.....

I know this article is a little old, but it does make you think.

So have they factored in that the astriod could be hit by a smaller astriod between now and then that could throw it off course ever so slightly???

It either hits or it doesn't. :dunno: I'm far more interested in what I'm fixing for supper than the government's tin foil specialists' ouji board predictions.

Kind of have to agee on that one. Its one of those things that we personaly and most likely even as a nation, cant do anything about but especialy as individuals it would be something we couldnt stop from happening and if a monster asteroid hit the planet then there would be nothing IMHO that one could do to survive it since the planet its self (at least as we know it) would not be likely to survive.

So thats just not something I worry about, kind of like dieing from being struck by lightening, if its gonna happen nothing I can do to stop it and even more the case for the asteroid.

Interesting to read about sometimes though as a novelty to me. JMHO

I agree theres not much that can be done about it. It either hits or it doesn't. I just think it is mighty arogent of them to think that they can say for sure that it will be that close and not hit 22 years from now. Anything could happen between now and then.

since it won't lead to global disaster, I hope it hits. It would be pretty cool to see what happens.

I think it would be interesting as well. I was thinking of this article when I watched "Deep Impact" again the other night. I tend to think that when the .gov tries to reassure us so much that is when we definitely need to watch out.

It does not look to be a climate killer, but depending on where it lands, it could be very problematic. For example, can you imagine an impact in DC? Or on Wall Street? If this is bigger than the one that hit in Arizona, it could wipe out leadership or economic records.

With the climate that we are living in today with terrorists, if they see our country in turmoil, how would that affect terrorist attacks?

If it hits in Mexico, or Canada, with our borders unsecured, what about the influx of Hispanics, or even worse FRENCHMEN!!!!!!

Maybe when terhorhism and nuke scares ceases to be the primary purpose for global conquest, after all of the moves have been made, an imminent threat that would jeopardize all of the earth may become the next phase in implementing a new world cooperative and perspective. An asteroid is far more threatening if it is large enough, and with television, it can be played out in technicolor for all to be scared to death. Armageddon, the movie, and the others like it may become "reality".

It wouldn't be the first time that a hollywood production came true.

That is, unless the asteroids are real...in which case we are farked either way. But global warming may also be another tool. Whether any of these scenarios are real or not, we must stand in awe at the way governments are capitalizing on the events.

    Just my crazy two cents.

If the frenchmen DO come accross the border just put one of your kids' toy guns in your scarecrow's hands. Then you just patrol once a day to collect the surrendering frenchmen. Nothing to it.
