Amazing game. I also wish it would be Linux compatible and I would play every day instead of every so often booting up the Win PC. One of the best PC games ever, in my opinion. Of course, Arma 3 is still my favorite (sorry Sec)
Storyline is robust.... Crafting system is reasonably complex.... I *thought* targeting system was *lazy* until i realized +xp for manual shots.... 10 hrs later at low level with lots of ammo...starting over.
Love starting the Fallout games...just can't keep up with them once I've explored most of the major places. That steep climb at the beginning is fun but then resources really become less scarce and your characters power rises too fast. No challenge in it after the first 10-15 hours. The long term build just gets too repetitive too fast. I'd love to see a truly Massive Multi Player Fallout game though. I like my games much more hardcore. Escape from Tarkov for instance. Brutal. Always scrounging for gear because of the loss mechanic. I've also been playing a lot of PUBG (Play Unknown's Battle Ground). There's no really long term grind. It's an FPS with a twist. Each round players start with basic clothing only. You have to parachute into an island and procure all weapons, ammo, armor & meds. On a timed basis the play area is reduced in size and combat is forced to a random central location. It's actually a great concept. Game has some stability issues and it's Unreal4 engine opens it up to way too many cheats. Last man standing kind of thing.
Dayz was fun back when i gamed alot. Fallout new vegas was the last fallout i played. It was good to.
