I wonder why they put menu on the list. I do not have any in my home. The video put sponges. Sponges are one thing I battle with. Mine often get sour within a week. I have poured straight hydrogen peroxide on them and it is gross the amount to foam that is created. I have tried soaking in salt and microwaving but there seems to be not easy way other then bleach to keep a sponge smelling nicely.

Now I have to go clean my keyboard and wash my hands. :)

Back in the days when I worked in an office setting, my coworkers thought I was some kind of kook because every day I would wipe down my desktop, keyboard, mouse, phone, chair arms, even pens and pencils with a strong cleaner, then sprayed everything with Lysol. Funny, I never go the flu or called in sick.

I am still a "clean freak" about stuff like this. I clean my keyboard & cellphone daily. I always knew menus & light switches are bad news.

Door handle or knob on the toilet. I always use something to open the door (when out and about) because I see too many people use the toilet and leave without washing their hands. That's my little gross out thing...

I hate, and I do mean hate, those electric hot air hand dryers in public toilets. Not only are they little germ factories, there are no paper towels to open the door with.

It's always a bonus if there is no door, or the door can be opened with your foot or elbow.

I keep reasonably clean and observe good hygiene, but am not a fusspot about it. I subscribe to the "whatever doesn't kill you makes your immune system stronger" theory.

I have read multiple times that you can drink the water in the toilet tank. It is said that it is fresh drinking water. I have looked in the tanks of all of our toilets and it is not a clean area. There is a orangish film on the sides of the tank. These are tanks on city water. Has anyone looked at their toilet tanks?

I doubt that I would drink it neat....filtered and sterilised, maybe if the alternative was death by dehydration.....oh may add a little vodka to improve the taste and added sterilisation. ;)

Nothing builds up in the tanks out here, but the water is very soft so the combination of no nutrients and whatever treatments keeps anything from growing. I can tell you though that you should NEVER find out what the inside of the water mains that deliver all the water to your home.

Technically, the water in your tank should be potable as the flow is always from the tank to the bowl. I ain't gunna do it, though...best just stick to Brondo
