Might not be politically correct and I don't know what the long run effect will be, but as an American I like Trump's actions to make America first a lot better than the actions of a certain ex president, by the grace of God and the will of the people, running around the world apologizing for something that happened 50 years ago and making personal pledges that somehow morphed into long term national goals .

 

I'm generally wary of politicians making extravagant promises and claims.....they usually deliver far less than they promise; frequently at a far greater cost in lives and treasure than expected, to be borne almost entirely by the deluded electors who voted them into office in the first place.

 

I hear you @chelloveck and you are correct. However, most of us here are hoping for a few simple changes that are long overdue. All politicians lie and this one is no different but if he can just change a few things like our tax code, immigration, and medical care - well - it will be more than what anyone else has done in recent memory. Anyway, that's my opinion... Reference, America First or even Australia First seems the only approach that a country should take if it indeed is supporting its people and it wants to survive. I am not saying to not help other countries of the world but we Americans need help ourselves and it is only right and just that we should help ourselves before helping the rest of the world. For example, 60-70 billion dollars in foreign aid money would could go a long way in assisting medical care or education in our own country for we certainly need it. Anyway, I think most of us are not expecting even half of what has been promised but are hopeful we'll finally get a little something, something of real value... We'll see.

 

I didn't watch any of the links, but I think it's each country's prerogative to put their own interests ahead of others. That doesn't mean we are at war with each other or trying to knife each other in the back. It just means we are sovereign nations.

 

Where we are with all the help we are doling out is simply trying to buy friendship. The envy and hate will exist with or without the buying.

I think this series of video clips just takes the p!$$ out of TRump's civic nationalism. Everyone with a minimal number of neurones will realise that it's TRump first, Trump's commercial interests 2nd, and America, somewhere after that. Each country touts itself as if it was TRump promoting their own country - as exercrably as TRump promotes his own country.

 

I believe in america first, in america. A country should always put its interests before that of another country as long as it doesn't come to war. We should stop giving out so much international aid. We should build a border wall, pull out of the paris accord for the good of our industries and stop taking "refugees" from countries that hate us.

 

Chelloveck if Trump can make America great again then Trump deserves to be first,the first president to do so in a long while. Trump is the first (real) president we have had since before the civil war when the northern states evaded the south,(the war of northern aggression)

 

Okay. I am okay with that. We just got done with someone who bowed to other leaders. We had someone who wanted to play nice and be PC with the world.I have heard for years that Americans are arrogant in the eyes of other countries, may be we are. We work hard, don't get lots of holiday time and long lunches like they do in Europe.

 

I guess I have less than the standard 'neurons' for I fail to see any connection why his 'America First' cry means any more or any less than what it is stating... I just cannot connect the dots how 'America First' = 'Trump's First' but I did have a birthday this past weekend and burned through the weak and lame neurons but in truth - who needs them weaklings! Burn'em up! But, I will continue to watch and listen and wait for enlightenment...might be a while though due to lack of neurons. But, I must admit, I am one of those funny sorts that like my facts, plain and neat like scotch... Facts. And, I see nothing to back up your accusations so give me/us something, anything? Hell he doesn't have to do very much to make America and himself great! LOL! If Trump manages to pass even 1 or two major bills like health care or tax reform he will have made American great again because no one else has done nothing, NOTHING, for 30+ years (probably more) except kick the can down the road! And, quite frankly, I for one am sick of it so - yeah - America First! And, if the rest of the world don't like it - they can pound sand.
