Soon, Americans will be able to say "Merry Christmas" again, according to Donald Trump.

Donald Trump has assured Pat Robertson in a recent 700 Club interview, that Americans will be safe to say "Merry Christmas" again, once he (Trump) brings America "back". Oh Happy Day! Pat Robertson Can Say Merry Christmas Again!

Given that Donald is more than a little distracted at the moment by the Mueller russian probe, and his eldest son's russian imbroglio....the 'Merry Christmas' project might be on the back burner for a little while longer. :(

Pat Robertson, good grief. That old fool should have been happy with his assistance in ushering in two Bush dynasties, but he just keeps coming back for more. I remember reading his book, "The New World Order" and his failures with Carter made me smile.

Religion has no place in politics. Bloody hell.

I have no issue with saying "Merry Christmas", eating hot cross buns, or scoffing down off season 'not' cross buns...to me they are secular celebrations with just a tinge of symbolic religiosity....nor do I have any issue with someone who wants to say Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, or Eid Mubarak! I don't have to be a d!ck about other people's seasonal greetings. It just seems to me, that if Trump is spending much effort in demanding that people say "Merry Christmas" instead of "Happy Holidays", then one wonders about the priorities of his administration....perhaps his actual priority is suck up to his fundagelical constituency with motherhood style statements that will help him to keep his shambolic White House circus going into a second term.

Possibly true. The thing about politics is, it's not what you do that matters, it's what you say. I think we can all agree it ought to be the other way around. It is a little too early to cater to any particular voting base, so one might ask if it's more of a ploy to garner support for another upcoming agenda. Possibly war on the horizon?

I never stopped saying 'Merry Christmas' and I don't give a damn who it offends.

It shouldn't , but now days , it does bother a few. I've not actually run across anyone that was upset by it, but it's not for a lack of trying. :sneaky: I hate having to change customs that have been the norm for generations , for some little piss ant that all of a sudden feels like their feelings or beliefs, or lack of beliefs , is more important than the masses.

I have no problem with those people not celebrating my Christmas, in fact we need those people working on the 25th.

Computers do nothing more than the instructions programmed for them to follow....variability is a matter of how the algorithm is written...[IMG]

variation can be accommodated by nested If / Then / Else statements.

Although 0 may symbolically resemble a vagina, and a 1 may symbolically resemble a penis...however..gender isn't simply the possession or absence of a penis or a vagina. Cisgender and transgender are variables that can be happily accommodated in a computer algorithm....logic gates help a lot ;)

My holiday greeting is completely my business, and I don't give a furry rats rump if it offends someone who I believe has two much time on they're hands!

It all began to go downhill after the people forgot defending the republic comes first; this is how you control a once free and sovereign people.

0's are vagina's and 1's are penises? You guys are headed down the proverbial slippery slope for sure. [LMAO]

I totally agree. I do go out of my way to be polite and well-mannered because I had that driven home to me, in no uncertain terms (if you know what I mean ;)) as a child and it has stuck with me. My Grandmother was a hateful, spiteful bitch but she did instill in me proper conduct. So, this is what I was taught and it serves me well enough and if people do not like it - well - they can turn their head or tell me to bugger off. I frankly don't care for I made an effort to be polite and be social.

@SB21 "I hate having to change customs that have been the norm for generations.."
You know what I have found living overseas even in some Muslim countries that most people will joyful accept our Christmas. Hell, we use to have Muslim friends over for Christmas celebrations! I mean, it's a holiday and most people like holidays... And, like you, I wouldn't change my 'customs that have been the norm for generations' no matter who or what says I need to do so especially one that does no harm to others.
