    Two weeks of 90 degree temps have slowed progress significantly. Coming home after work and then working in the sun for another few hours was not happening.

    Anyways, back at it with lower temps and a early AM start. Next weekend will be a lot of concrete block cutting to fill the holes. :eek:

    Either purchasing or renting a wet saw is well worth the investment. JMHO.

    I love my big 6-foot level, it really helps with a project like this. The rock has an uneven surface and over a couple of feet, is hard to see if you are actually level across the entire span. I use a three foot level as I am laying the stone, and use the 6-foot to double check everything as I complete a section. It also helps to ensure your lines are straight and you are not getting a bulge anywhere that will be un-correctable later on.

    I've got their 2 footer, 4 footer and the 6 footer. They ain't cheap but well worth it. The smaller ones I used a lot for running pipe. They have really strong magnets so they won't fall off the pipe when you're 60 feet up in a man lift;)

    My little one foot level is so magnetized....it keeps sucking up the sand/iron, so I had to stop using it.
