The Paradox of Tolerance

I find I have infinite tolerance for folks that think like I do. As to the Colin Kaepernick"s (and Bennett & Lynch) and all his followings, should they become unemployed paupers, Karma's real. JMHO.

 

The problem is that the so called tolerant ones are defining ANYTHING outside their own narrow ideology as NAZISM.

I'm currently at ground zero.

I face this every day I leave my home.

I see it in the local news every evening.

If you don't buy into the entire enchilada of social justice, micro agressions, only whites can be racist/all whites are racist/whites ruined the world for everybody else, only men can be sexist/all men are sexist pigs/men ruined the world for everybody else, all straight people (especially men) are homophobic/Straight people (especially men) ruined the world for everybody else then you are a NAZI.

What you posted above is their rationalizing their own violence (as they initiate the VAST majority of political violence) and NOTHING ELSE.

 

if a person cannot behave with a reasonable moral compass it is unwise to associate with him for a number off reasons .
People who believe they are accountable to no one, generally are dangerous to be around and their agendas are purely selfish.
I don't hang around people that can't wag a civil tung .
I have no associations with people with double dealings .
Being associated with these 1. lowers one's own standard.
2. the value of ones word is questionable ,having association with these individuals.
3. association is approval , I don't approve.
4. I cannot vouge for these people nor would I want them vouging for me .
A good reputation is tough enough to establish, association with the wrong person can destroy it all.

Nothing you have would exist with out precise tolerances and standards , NOTHING , especially you computer, and phones, and cars, guns, and all the other things in life we make.
One of the things that made this country great is establishing specific standards that must be as perfect as possible. having quality standards makes a company reliable and the quality your looking for in products.
My last job was making stents for the heart and other arteries . very specific standards had to be adhered to or the pars were scrapped ,both because the patent is very specific , and the liability of the company.
How would you like it if I compromised in my work ?

 

Being tolerant of sexual deviants, doesn't make sexual deviants acceptable. Being tolerant of acts against Patriotism, doesn't make Anti-Patriotic acts acceptable. Being tolerant of acts of prejudice, doesn't make prejudice acts acceptable. You can't pick 1 of the 3, you have to defend all of the 3 equally or your vocalizations are meaningless. JMHO.

If a psudo-religion (a theocracy) says you must join or die - why should I 'tolerate' what seems to be an active enemy to my culture?

People say drugs are a victim-less crime - so I should tolerate drug usage? Except drug usage isn't victim less...witness Chiraq, Detroit or any other crime and drug ridden inner-city - why should I 'tolerate' the loss in both lives and Govt dough?

We have lost the will to survive as a society - killed by political correctness.

Tolerance like most thing is a two way street

The paradox invites a critique of the "we're all sinners", "let he who is without sin cast the first stone", "the pot calling the kettle black", "people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones", and "who are you to judge" rhetoric, often used by the intolerant to avoid intolerance of their own intolerance.

You hit the nail on the head with the above two lines. These Yahoos are tolerate as long as you see things their way. And, this indeed is nothing more than rationalizing their use of violence.

Personally, since my return to the states a few years back, I am starting to swing the other way. Yes, that is correct. I am becoming more and more intolerant. Why? Because I am sick to death of hearing how I have to think, feel, speak, etc. and if I don't then I am a white racist supremacist, bigot of narrow mind and morals. Well, screw'em!

If I don't want to agree with 50-year old men urinating in the same bathroom with 10-year girls because inside themselves they think they are pretty little girls - well - I don't have to do so and I won't. Tough luck. I am intolerant. So, send your jack booted liberal fascist goon squad around to change my mind. Oh! And, send that 50-year man that thinks he's a girl. I will help him out with that and remove those parts of his anatomy he finds offensive. Yeah, I am about through being tolerate...and the more they push the less tolerate I will become. Screw'em!

I find your spirited defense of intolerance nothing less than what I expect from the left. Tolerance and respect are not the same thing. I want neo Nazis and Democrats to speak more. I may not like what they say, but I will fight to the death for their right to say it. The only reason the left is trying to shut down speech is because their ideas are so terrible that they are indefensible. I want my kids exposed to Nazi ideology, it's the only way they will learn why it is wrong logically. As far as the left's deep desire to shut down hate speech, that's what leads to a police state. You shut down hate speech and then someone comes along and defines hate speech as anything that is pro homosexual speech. You shut down hate speech and someone will come along and define hate speech as anyone who disagrees with their current fad. I sure hope there are more people out there willing to fight for free speech than useful idiots willing to shut down tolerance for the sake of identity politics or the next generation is surely doomed to be ruled by authoritarians.

 

Agreed @Seepalaces - you have to let stupid speak so you can realize just how stupid it truly is. If your position can't survive a conflicting view it is weak and unsupportable.

This is not to confuse a conflicting viewpoint with trolling others to get a reaction. Trolling is it's own stupidity.
