Old Marine Corps fitness report had a mark called force. Best way I heard it defined was "The ability to get a bunch of strangers to do what you tell them and make them feel it was their idea." Even if men you'd never met called you Sir when you were walking to the showers in a towel you might still lack this kind of force. It had nothing to do with physical threats or coercion.
