Batten Down The Hatches.... This one is expected to bring plenty of rain, 30in. predicted in some areas and the storm is expected to linger over Texas.

Some radars are showing that Harvey will skim the coast. Either way Corpus Christi and surrounding areas are going to flood. People are stocking up and shelves are bare.

    Shelves in Houston-

There may be disaster looming but seems that no one wants to survive on Lay's chicken and waffle chips.

S is about to hit the F if they get 30 inches of rain.
Forget stocking up. Implement the final solution. Move inland.

I hope they stocked up on chain saws and chain saw accessories.

I heard on the news that Corpus Christie is only 7 feet above sea level. No matter what those people are in trouble. I am hearing that some people are planning on staying but IMO that is a huge risk.

It probably will contaminate their drinking water for months.

I've been watching this from my BOL in East Texas. Expecting 10-20 inches here if it comes in at Corpus. I have a friend in Houston bragging on FB he was able to get a loaf of bread. Just makes you realize it's true, 95% will not make it when the SHTF.

My daughter asked for a prayer from me and all I know, they are in Harris County. My SIL is on patrol tonight trying to keep a watch over the flock....God bless him!!

Harris Co. (Houston) floods and is on the bad side of the storm and it looks like Harvey is going to stall out when it hits land and just set there for a day are so. They have my prayers. Unless something happens the storm will not be finished with the Texas coast until late next week.

I saw a man on the news today, he said he was at 11 feet above sea level. The storm surge will be higher then that and with all the flooding, I just think those people that are staying will be in real trouble. As @T. Riley said, this storm will be stalling over land so it will not be a quick hit. Officials have been telling the public to have 3 days of food, that will not be enough.

This was Tropical Storm Allison. Not even a hurricane.

People need to remember that it is not just the water that could get them.

Events like this are a real eye-opener. We prep for events like these, not for the end of the world. People are driving all over and fighting for water. Here is a video of one mans prep. At the end he shows you his cupboards.

They are now calling it a CAT III.... Calling for it to sit on the coast 3 or 4 days.

People, pets, homes and businesses but we also need to remember that Coastal Texas has oil rigs. Here is an image of all that are off shore and will be affected.

Also located on the coast is the South Texas Nuclear Generating Station. I am sure it was built to withstand this type of storm. But it is a concern plus I have also heard people being concerned about all the chemical companies and refineries located on the coast.
