    That's the first thing that entered my mind was that it looked like a series of blasts. If you look at the beginning of the blast it starts up above the bank.

    What I noticed. is the Path of the Lightning, after it hit on top of the Bank, was it followed the Water Runoff. down the Bank to the waterline and then into the bottom of the Stream.... Then it converted the Energy, into Heat, that BOILED the Water, into Steam, and that brought up Big Chunks of the River Bottom to the surface.... Interesting....

    Crazy! Looks like several pounds worth of TNT packed into that! I suspect a fake, looks like a shot of det cord down the bank and into the water!

    Yeah, that is why I put the answer in the spoiler box. Someone showed me that. First thing out of my mouth was, "that is quite the explosion". The guy said it is lightening and kept having me look at it. I kept thinking.... that looks like an explosion. Must be they wanted to deepen their port or something.

    @URa-KiI. Have you Ever Photographed DetCord going off, with a High Speed Camera... DetCord detonates at some where above 8300 Meters/Sec... If you watch that Lightning Strike closely, you can see it travel from the top of the bank, down the Bank, and into the water... if this was taken with a Video Camera, @ 50fps, it shows that traveling thru 3-5 Frames, If it was DetCord it would NOT even show up in ANY Single Frame, as it is way to fast, to Photograph, with anything but a Super High Speed Camera... and Super Fast Very Special Film.... Been there, Done that... a few times...when I was in college...

    @BTPost what they are saying on the original ytube is that this is "non electric shock tube and non-electric detonators are the industry-standard now. Electric wire is not as safe and it has been used less and less over the years." And that it was a controlled detonation to blast the logs out of the channel. But lightning strike is a better story.

    Shock Tube Technology is newer than my Knowlege Base, but DetCord is Old School Technology to me...I am used to Electric Caps, and Delay Line technology..... I can understand the Safety Factor gained by using Shock Tube Technology over Electric, or Fused Technology, but with proper care, and technique, they are both safe enough in my mind...

    Yeah it's det cord setting off some charges.
    Probably removing silt buildup from channel or just making it deeper.

    Plus lightning looks white, or blush white on virtually all videos and stills. That is a red orange color, just like det cord.

    Nah. Flash tube for my money. What ever the charges were, they were not det cord either. Det cord goes all at once, flash tube fire has visible progression as this did.
