New to my area, you may have seen this before now. The outfit is Camel Water Systems.

They have multiple kinds of rotomolded storage tanks - most designed to fit in-betwen wall studs of all things.

They also have a free standing rain water collection system.

I'm pretty sure everyone here is handy enough to do this one better. I still find it interesting that these folks see a market. They also sells these modules for fuel storage, although local laws would likely prohibit such use in most of the US at any rate,.

Thought I post this up in case anyone is intrested.

more likely only slow it down a little, but it did get me thinking about large fish tanks in key locations and thick sheet metal beyond that so that bullet would be slowed then strike the metal, hopefully stopping it. It all wouldn't be as obvious as sand bags from floor to bottom of windows and also coming up both sides of window opening. But then anything can be hidden behind what looks like cabinets or a heater radiator box enclosure.

You'd really want to have your water supply hidden to go to these lengths. Their 15 gallon unit fits in the gap between two studs and costs $189. A six foot wall length would hold five of these but would add 600 pounds of weight. It also seems quite impractical to get the water out or in. I wish them luck though.

I’m definitely buying some for fuel storage. What could possibly go wrong?

300 USG Maximum Water, seems like a lot of decor, for not much water.... and very limited Surface are on the Roof, that doesn't bode well for collecting much water, unless in a Deluge.... Think I will keep my System...

You might need to patch holes though.

The water harvesting and storage system seems a little expensive for the amount of storage capacity provided.

Having a number of flat storage modules may be useful for storage in what otherwise might be wasted space.

Hmm, just yesterday bought locally a 330 gallon (1200 L) IBC tote for $155 (sure if looking around they could be found cheaper) for water storage at the remote property. It will replace two 55 gallon drums that I purchased for $27 each.

The Camel is a cool idea though. If you have extremely limited space it might be worth the extra cash.

Actually some one renting or living in a condo or apartment might be able to make a false wall with these for water storage and hide in plain sight .

AS I said, the marketing on this is puzzling to me and I'm sure the average Monkey could do better for the same $.

Just the same, they must see a market to be able to raise the capital and go into business.

H2O Hog beat them to the punch with a similar product. But competition is good.

Paint them black and lay them flat on a strong roof and cover them with glass . then you'd have a solar water heater.

Or maybe not. Their web page still shows a copyright date of 2015 and their blog had some entries for a few months in early 2016 and then nothing. If they are still operating then they certainly aren't using their web page effectively.

Heh. Web pages are a hell of a good idea, right up until someone gets tagged to maintain them.

Just make sure you put a sign on the wall (both sides), that says, "NO DRILLS, NAILS OR SCREWS!!!" ;)
