This is a nice surprise! I already own 'Foreign Enemies and Traitors' but wanted 'Castigo Cay' but felt he was overcharging for it...

I just will not pay more than $6.00 for an eBook...no distribution costs, no shelf costs, no handling cost and very little publishing costs so they don't get my business if it is more than a paperback and that goes even for the famous authors like Bernard Cornwell, Conn Iggulden, William R. Forstchen, etc...I simply go to the library. I prefer reading with my Kindle but that's the way the cards are dealt. They lose and I lose.

How did you happen upon this - I mean - are you signed up for something that told you 'FREE BOOKS TODAY'? BTW BIG THANKS!

I have a "Daily" group of favorite websites I check every day, some news sites and such, and FKB.ME is one of them; most days it has a new batch of recommended free Kindle books. I must have 6,000 by now.
I don't believe in this case that was how I found this, however - I think I must have clicked on some book from the list and it was similar enough in some aspect that it was displayed in the "people who looked at this also looked at..." section below. I always look at least at the first row of those, for any others that are free.
And Amazon also has a "top 100 free" page, it's a little difficult to find sometimes. At the moment, you can get there by opening the page for any Kindle book and near the top, below the black border, is a row of links starting with "Buy a Kindle", a few more to the right is "Best Sellers & More", click that. Scroll down to the "Category Best Sellers" area and click "Kindle Best Sellers".
This takes you to the page of "Top 100 paid", but next to that, click "Top 100 Free". There's like 5 pages.
Before you click "buy" on anything, of course, verify that the price really is $0.00, sometimes they'll change by the time you get there. That list is supposedly updated hourly.

And finally regarding price, I have lucked into getting all of these free, but I still bought copies of the paper books to give away, both because I want to give them away and because I want to pay Matthew for work I'm glad he's doing. Unlike some, I think he's worth paying. I did the same for HalfFast, Thomas Sherry and John Ross.

Yeah, I like Bracken also so this is a real treat for me...I paid for his other series but, not to offend anyone, but I just won't buy more than ~$6.00 now for an eBook, mainly because there are thousands upon thousands of great authors out there now that the big publishers can't control what we read and most the time it is the damn publishers that jack the prices up to as much as the market will bear...they don't get it that those days are dead and gone.

I WISH I could find a good copy of John Ross' 'Unintended Consequences' in eBook but they don't print them anymore. Please let me know if you do see one. I do have a copy but it doesn't display perfectly. I think I got it from a pdf file and converted it to Kindle format (.azw or .azw3). It's good enough to read but I would like to purchase a real clean copy.

IIRC the book is available online in ebook format...

John Ross - Unintended Consequences : John Ross : Free Download & Streaming : Internet Archive

this is also a good read... is about certain states rebelling against the deep state?

@OldDude49 I just downloaded John Ross' UC as they had it in the Kindle format. I will check it out on the Kindle in a second but wanted to thank you. Never heard or seen this site before and will snoop around it now. Thanks!

Concerning 'Molon Labe!", yes, I have it in my Wish List on Amazon (since you mentioned it earlier) and will purchase/read it soon...my Wish List for books is quite large and I work down it methodically but the problem occurs when I get caught on a series like recently with Michael G. Hopf's "The New World" series or etc... currently reading Herbert W. McBride's "A Rifleman Went To War" (excellent, btw, very different prose, written right after WW1) and Jeff Shaara,'s "World War II" series (okay, not great but entertaining). Thanks, again!

Molon Labe! Was a great book. I read it years ago. Thanks for mentioning it, I need to reread it. One of the members just recommended a series by John Grit, Apocalypse Law.
