At Wally world last night and saw they had Barska scopes. I'm looking for one one to mount on my 22 bolt. Any real world experience with this brand? Reading reviews and they are all over from junk to the best. At $25.00 what can you expect? Thanks for the help.

I have one on an air rifle. Good enough in that application.

An okay economy scope, on a par with Simmons. I have a couple on rimfire rifles.

I have one on a .22 and it works fine, and they are economical.

Just don't expect heavy duty use on a large caliber. I had one of their holographic red dot sights on a pump 12 gauge. Dropped 9 slug rounds rapid fire and the glass cracked......ooops. ;)

Speaking of Simmons, I have a Simmons on AlaskaChick's 30M1 Carbine, and other than the CrossHair Reticule going 45 Degrees off Plumb, it has functioned well... No Fog or other issues... The Reticule is now just a BIG X.... but still holds a solid Zero, @100Yds....

They seem to be of mixed quality, The higher end glass is made by Zeiss, but the lower end is questionable. We have a nice 4X12X44 on the wifes .243 Tikka and it has lasted 8 years on with zero issues. the coatings work and the scope is bright and clear!
We also have the top spotting scope 20X60X80, and it is one of the crispest and clearest scopes I have seen, especially at the price!

I've owned 2, one went in the trash because it would lose zero with the slightest bump, and one still on a .22 lever 12 years later. Like many things, their quality control would seem to vary according to what I have read. Worth taking a chance on though.

I think they are Chinese? I have read it is hit or miss on getting a good one.

I use them on 22LR and 17HMR rifles with no problems so far.

Have a Barska spotting scope. Disappointing garbage.

On the first one I owned, the flip up covers deteriorated after 3 years, but disappointing, nope, bought flip up covers, gone outta zero at the slightest bump, nope, cheap scope, yes, but I refuse to pay more for the scope than I payed for the rifle. YMMV

Barska is hit and miss from what I have found. For a .22 I recommend a 4x Bushnell any day of the week, and it won't break the bank, either. Wal-Mart did carry Bushnell scopes for .22's a while back.

My favorite scope for twentytwo rifles is the Bushnell 4-12X40AO scope, sold by Wally's. Was about $70 when I was buying them. I am one of those odd ducks who likes to shoot .22LR at 100+ yards. This scope handles anything from 25 yards up, due to it's AO function.
I have five of them, on my best shooting rimfires, including my Marlin 25MN and 17V rifles.
