. A GROSSLY OBESE GLUTTON CONSUMED A LARGE 3 LAYER DEVIL'S FOOD CAKE SLATHERED OVER, AROUND AND IN BETWEEN LAYERS WITH BUTTERCREAM MOCHA CHOCOLATE FUDGE ICING ALL BY HERSELF IN ONE SITTING. when caught in the act, herself, with face, hair, hands, and clothes smeared with cake and icing, simply said, "it wasn't my fault, the FORK made me do it.
    .
Guns are only tools. People can use them to save lives or to take life. Statistically I believe far more lives are saved on a ratio of somewhere between 100 saved to 1 killed and 1000 saved to 1 killed.
    .
I hope and pray, this insane proposed gun control does not pass.

Well... whoever wrote it for Representative Cicilline knew what they were doing and sure covered all avenues. It appears that it hasn't been assigned a number yet so...not sure when that number is assign but think it is when it is presented on the floor. He's a Democrat, of course...

That's the big question isn' it! Most LEO I know have families and are not about to do something pretty much guaranteed to get them killed! The Military, that's an unknown, but I would say not likely, National Guard, or Reserves, again unknown, but I would think they would be patriots amoung us, not likely to follow such orders blindly! Big questions we don't have answers to until it comes down to it!

Any chance this is an attempt to jump start in the toilet AR15 sales?

Bush2 also said he would sign the 1994 assault weapons ban if it was given to him for renewal. No chance and no more than pandering to the left.

Problem is that they are screaming for the Republicans to compromise on gun control, they never give up and bit by bit they are taking all of our rights away. They label them as assault rifles that are only used for killing people and are of no use for hunting and then define an assault rifle as any weapon with a removable magazine, any magazine with over 5 rounds capacity, and capable of semiautomatic firing, and bingo, all that is legal is the 1900 era bolt action Mausers etc. Of course it does not help that the same groups also want to outlaw hunting and trapping and don't consider those as being necessary uses for firearms. The sheeple all seem to believe that if guns are outlawed, that there will be no gun violence and they will be protected by the police and live in a perfect world. I just wish we could make them live in gun free Chicago for a few months, the survivors might have a different take on the necessity of firearms for protection. In my lifetime, I have never seen the left willingly give up anything in their desire to outlaw all firearms, and about 1/2 of the population of the US has now for most practical purposes lost their 2 nd amendment rights or has had them severely limited.

Protected by the same evil police who can' be trusted and are always "out to get them".

What's the crime stats, are all "semi auto rifles" still only accounting for around 2% of all gun crime?

Hmmm. Remember the Street Sweeper shotgun? They got rid of it pretty quick by only attacking the one gun. Saturday Night Specials? Same way, went after one type of gun. When one of them wakes up and just goes after the AR-15 style rifle, they will succeed. As long as they throw a blanket description over a whole class of weapon it'll be hard to do.

Won't take too long for the cartels to go into the manufacturing business. They already have the smuggling routes and with the left keeping the borders open...

Maybe the best way to cut back on gun crime would be to make it a death sentence to use a gun to commit a crime. You kill someone, rob someone, rape someone,or use a gun to break ANY law,a death sentence. No ifs ,ands ,or buts, then you will see gun crime go down. You rob someone with a gun and get .50 cents, then you get the death penalty. This law would go to anybody aged 16 or over. We could build a wall completely around the USA and free medical care for everyone and have money left over. DO not let any gun control get started or it will be the end of the USA as we know it.

It will be just like most of the gun laws on the books. Unenforced, ignored.

I wish we could count on that, although given the number of other unenforced laws, it would not surprise me. But all it will take is one zealot. Far, far, better it never gets out of committee and gets lost in the archives.

The problem with a death sentence for "any" crime committed with a gun is who says what a "crime" is? I know what you mean, but the left will be the ones defining what a crime is and we will be on the fuzzy end of the lollypop. I am afraid that at best we will split into two separate countries, I fear that darker clouds are fast approaching and if Trump caves to the anti-gunners he will be a one term president and the Commnists will sweep 2020. Then all bets are off.

Who will enforce such a law? I asked some young New York National Guardsmen and they told me that if it came to this they would indeed comply with orders. It rather shocked me, but in hindsight, they were young, not sure if that is an excuse but it's true. However, I think they truly don't know until the time. It will be a propaganda war, first and foremost, for the 'hearts and minds' of the people. Unfortunately, dead children give the upper hand to the opposition. I just do not believe that Republicans would approve such a law as it is written because it will undoubtedly cause civil unrest and how far that unrest would go is debatable because in order to stop and change such a law it would require bloodshed. The government, of course, would feel under threat that a dangerous precedent could be set if it showed itself weak, unable to enforce law, so they would push back hard then harder then harder again... This is very dangerous...

I believe, if they pass such a law that they will indeed enforce it. Local law enforcement agencies would not be equipped manpower wise to do so nor the FBI. Of course, the Federal government will ask Governors to use their National Guard first. There hangs the first crucial decision point. The second point is the U.S. military, who is by oath sworn to "support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic" and since this will be law...we'd be the domestic enemies, the law breakers. There is, of course, the legal question of using the military against civilians but I truly doubt that will prove a great obstacle. And, like Sherman and Sheridan, the use of excessive force, legal or illegal, will be overlooked to accomplish goals.

In my eyes, I see this as truly serious. I knew this would happen if Hillary was elected but didn't see this coming but if this Bill passes, as written, it will eliminate every semi-automatic firearm. And, while that would be a tragedy, in my eyes, the real tragedy will be the Civil Disobedience and blood that will surely follow. Yeah, I am afraid...and I think I should be. I think you should be also.

EDIT: One last thing... I can almost see this as clear as day. When the first shot is fired after such a law has passed, and there will be shots, they will use that opportunity to nailed down gun laws so harsh as it will be almost impossible to own a firearm of any type, not only wheel-gun pistols for self-protection but even hunting rifles/shotguns. I would bet there will be expensive classes, long wait times, expensive permits and a dozen agencies to go through. The point is this is against the Second Amendment and rather challenge and try to repeal it they forego the risk and go around it. The Second wasn't made to allow us to go hunting - that was a given of the times. It was made to allow us a chance in opposition to tyranny and that is why semi-auto firearms are needed. I suppose if this happens then the decision will come down to each and every one of us.

If we only enforced the laws already on the books we would eliminate the problem at the source. But, they don't enforce the existing laws so why do we think new laws would make a difference?

Only one new law I can think of - the requirement for states to send information to NICS rather then the current voluntary system.

We also need reform on form 4473 - we need to remove the sn of any firearms as the check is on the individual and not the firearm. There is absolutely no need for the SN unless they are building a secret gun registration which the Oregon State Police has been found guilty of twice.

3M-TA3, I’ve said all along that the serial number is in a data base somewhere. Our government is our biggest enemy and the bad thing about it is we let it get this way.
