I have been checking out and researching Conflicted the Card Game. If you do not like mental exercises/ “what if” scenarios then this game is probably not for you but those that like to explore “What ifs” this maybe something to look at. Conflict is a card game that focuses quite a bit on the psychological aspect of survival. We talk about mental preparation but how often do you challenge yourself? This is also a game that will give you scenarios that you may not have considered. It will also give you insight to those friends and family who you plan to bug out/bug in with. It is advised to read through and do the cards first yourself before playing with your neighbors/prepper group.

From the Conflicted card game web site:

This game is all about the journey, not the destination, as you’ll find out the first time you play it. This game was designed to show you the areas where you need to improve in order to survive a collapse of modern civilization. The goal of Conflicted: The Survival Card Game is to see how far someone is willing to go in order to survive, without losing what makes us all human.
    Conflicted The Survival Card Game

One of the Conflicted card decks called the Survivalist series is based on the novels written by A. American.
This game gives you a window into some (not all) of the decisions the characters in A. American’s novels faced, and it gives you a chance to discuss how to manage certain situations where you must choose between your morals and your will to live. Would you have made the same decisions?

Here is one card from the first deck found on google images:
    Deck_1_b_1024x1024@2x. (click card to enlarge)

What do you do? Pro-active when your chances of survival are better or do you wait and hope this group passes by.

Below is a good review from someone who bought and played the game:
Snip….Are you really prepared to survive against the scum of humanity if the worst case scenario were to present itself today? Where do your priorities and loyalties lie? And the most important question, do you have the skills, knowledge, and compassion to survive the collapse of society while still maintaining what makes us human?
Written Review – Conflicted : The Survival Card Game

Four years ago this card game was discussed here: Are you Conflicted? If you are not, you should be. The members, many that are still here were quite interested in the game. Did anyone buy the product? Was it worth the cost and did the game help you learn about you and those you played with?

    So let's play Conflicted:
This is a scenario allegedly from the deck that I found on a prepper site. This will give you an insight into what the game is about and maybe you will want to purchase a deck.

SCENARIO – One of your friends approached you and confessed to you that he secretly plans to kill another of your friends. He is so driven towards this, that he swears he will also take out anyone who gets in the way of his task. You like them both equally, and to help one would be betraying the other. When you pressed to find his reasons for murder, he remained silent. How would you handle this situation and why?

Do they provide the correct answer? How do you get ahead in the game?

Without more information I'd be inclined to side against the person who threatens to kill my other friend. Seems he is irrational and will make other decisions that will endanger me, and I'm also wondering if I'm next on the list.

I have seen a board game edition but then I have also seen just the cards. There is no correct answer. What you choose will either be right for you or could end you up dead.

That line bothered me. There could be a reason why that guy needed killing. What is the guy is a pedo and this other guy is choosing to remain silent and not tarnish the guy before he kills him. Maybe saying why he needs killing will just prolong what is the inevitable.

And maybe he just thinks the other friend would taste good......

I'd tell the intended victim and then get two new friends.

UncleMorgan I like peeling bananas and (occasionally) people.

This game looks like a total mind-scrambler.

Who really knows what they'd do in a totally unfamiliar situation?

All you have to go on is the nearest approximation from your own experience, direct or indirect.

No one who has never been hungry can really presume to know what they would do in a famine, and only someone who has almost starved to death really knows what goes on in their head when that happens--and what they would be willing to do to prevent it.

Example: In a true famine, cannibalism is an ultimate certainty, usually starting fairly late in the process. The last resort, so to speak.

But the cannibal survivor of a previous famine already knows what's ahead.

So will he wait until everyone else is eating their neighbors (and children) or does he stock up early before all the fat people are gone?

    (Creepy, what?)

Where do we all draw the line? We never really know until we have to cross it.

If he was a pedo or otherwise needed killing he would have said it up front as there would be no reason not to do so. What my survival does not need is irrational homicidal behavior.

Where your line is for your own life vs where your line is for your kids’ lives might vary.

Just based off of that card , I believe I'd have to terminate that dudes chances of turning on me later on. He may be wanting us both taken out , so if he can get me to take the other guy out , then he has a better chance of dealing with me one on one instead of 2 on 1 . Might be an interesting game , just to bring up different scenarios that one may not normally think about.

So what are you going to do if it shows up on your doorstep or in your neighborhood. Why one guy thinks the other guy needs killing is unknown but what are you going to do? Tell one guy and killer the intended killer?

Obviously we are talking about SHTF/WROL where I can't just call 911.

Yes, without any other information given the constraints on the card this would be my plan. One person has expressed that he is a danger to another person/team member while the other has not. The person stating he is going to kill someone but who also refuses to say why is a threat. If he/she does say why then it needs to be confronted with both in a controlled environment to assess which one is the threat, but that's outside the constraints..

I tend to mind my own business, that having been said, protecting my friends is also my business. I have few friends but I have complete trust in the few I have. If one were to confide to me that they were going to kill another, I would tell them that I can't let you do that and will do whatever is necessary to prevent it. The cards are delt, then it is up to them as to how they are played. This makes no moral judgements, just that I will defend my friends against attack, even by a friend or family member.

Can I address the scenario of the card displayed? #1 lock load and prepare to fire. #2 contact another member of the tribe to spread the word and to respond as backup. #3 commence well aimed fire without mercy.

Tac, you and I are bloodthirsty, or so some will say. Even if that group of orange suits aren't looking to set upon me, I think it is not hard to make a case for preventing mayhem somewhere else. (Not to mention that the word WILL get out about avoiding where the Olde Pharte with no restraint lives.)

What about the other scenario? I guess we will have to do the actual card. I still have not decided what to do on that one.

No. I didn’t forget that. Everyone has to choose action between what they’re afraid of and what they believe in. This threat fell under what I believe in.
