Interesting Injury at the prison last night... My own Of all the little things in the world, I bent down last night behind my desk to pickup a spray cleaner bottle (maybe 6 ounces) and when I stood up, my back completely gave out and I collapsed into my chair. After several minutes of unsuccessfully trying to stand, and being completely by myself, I realized what a predicament I was in. All around me, unrestrained, are over 140 prisoners, most of whom hate my guts simply because of the uniform I wear, and I'm unable to even stand up, let alone defend myself in any meaningful way. That particular dorm has a large gang population. Mosty Aryan Brotherhood/Saxon Knights, and a couple black gangs I'm not real familiar with, I think People Nation and Folk Nation. So I discreetly called on my radio for the dorm sergeant to stop by and I sat there trying to look uninjured and capable and waited for him to show. I was glad the sergeant didn't take very long to arrive. Staff took me out in a wheelchair and to our medical unit, who in turn sent me to the local ER, and now I'm scheduled for an MRI tomorrow. I still can't stand up or walk, but I can crawl to my computer, pull myself up and log on to the monkey, so at least I've got that. All in all, a pretty interesting night.
That was quick thinking on your part (calling your sergeant). Way to keep your head and senses! -- that is survival. Be sure to take the rest that you need to heal! It will take a while.
Wow sorry to hear that blackjack, at least you kept your wits about you and got out of there in one(?) piece.Good luck at the medical hobbyshop.I thought this thread was gonna be about the inmate who mysteriously sat on a coke bottle. Good thing the cry babyofficer didn't have to fend off an encroaching ring of vermin trying to eat your brains!

Good thing you weren't on all fours in sight of the prisoners. They would be thinking you dropped the soap. Just kidding, glad it turned out like it did, smart thinking on your part not panicking. I hope that you heal up quick. Get some and keep us informed on the MRI results.
Yeah... she's hangin' in there so far. They haven't left her by herself yet though .... Yep...All kinds of things were running through my mind at that point. It's too bad I can't give a better story as to the cause of my injury. "Officer injured by 6 ounce plastic spray bottle" just doesn't sound very tough. If I was John Kerry, I think I could work out a purple heart for it
Don't feel bad about 10 yrs. ago at work I was stepping out of the back of a pickup and almost got a hernia from it, I can't remember what they called it but it wasn't quite a hernia but almost. Yeah, rough tough construction worker gives himself hernia stepping out of pickup, that was fun. I was in my early 30's at the time. Glad you kept your wits and called for help, good thinking. Hope all goes well on the MRI.
Good thing none of them were paying very close attention to you. Glad to hear you made it out without being anyones new bride. Im sure when they saw you go out in the wheelchair all sorts of thoughts went through their little minds. The MRI might feel really good on your back, I know it did on my foot that was broke even if it didnt find the break but it felt good. Hope you get better soon.
