Hope you and family and friends are ok over there , and out of the way of any danger from the Volcano. Stay safe ..
I think he is on a different island but I wonder about the air quality. I read they were evacuating people.

There are ongoing evacuations...here is what is going on - County of Hawaii - Civil Defense Alerts and Information - Volcanic Eruption in Lower Puna District Message for Friday May 4 at 4:20 AM Here is the impacted area...
This has apparently become much more serious... Today, a 6.9 earthquake in Leilani Estates, 450 earthquakes in the past 24 hours. Today's Earthquakes in Hawaii, Hawaii
This volcano shows no sign of being done. Looks like things may be getting worse. All the fissures that are opening up is very alarming. Those fissures all seem to be in a line. Almost like they are cutting a line, then what happens..... @SB21 with you permission, I would like to turn this into a volcano discussion thread. I think that many members here are watching this natural event happen and IMO, lets discuss it. Earth is a powerful thing, one can plan their life and mother earth can wipe everything out instantly. Back to the volcano. I read that these fissures are throwing lava bombs: 18Th fissure opens and lava bombs fly as Kilauea's eruption shows no sign of slowing down There have been some stories lately that this could set off the ring of fire and that effects quite a few monkeys.
I've given MM34 my permission. Not that I felt she needed it. Getting more info on the volcano will be interesting and appreciated. Hope all in the area of the volcano's are safe.
Near Kilaueas volcano, where the fissures are opening are fault lines. There is a picture of the fault lines on page 9 of this download- https://pubs.usgs.gov/pp/0856/report.pdf People often joke that maybe California will have "the big one" and fall off into the ocean. The volcano that is active in HI has fault line, fissures and earthquakes, what happens if the land does slide into the ocean? HAWAII KILAUEA VOLCANO - INSTABILITY OF KILAUEA VOLCANO'S SOUTHERN FLANK - EVALUATION OF MASS EDIFICE FAILURES, FLANK COLLAPSES AND POTENTIAL TSUNAMI GENERATION - by Dr. George Pararas-Carayannis Volcanoes, landslides and tsunamis have all happened in the past. Imagine the devastation it would cause if that happened today. Kilaueas is now spurting out new lava. The stuff that was in the vent is out and new stuff is coming out. According to someone I spoke to, there is speculation that there could be a big explosion coming. Anyone interested in what is going on, USGS is very current on things and has loads of info. It would have to be an awfully large chunk. The models I have looked at point toward no significant tsunami impact for the United States mainland. If the theory of a tsunami originating due to Hawaii were to take place, worse case scenario it would only wipe out a minor California coastal area, dirty a few beaches, and give cause for a few billion dollars to be stolen from taxpayers to clean up unwanted debris while ignoring the tent cities and massive illegal gangs and rapists. Compared to the severity of nature principle I would only argue that's not efficient enough. Therefore, I must conclude by saying that Hawaii is not nearly large enough and it needs to grow by at least a thousand miles to the northeast so it can more effectively impact the coastline of the foreign nation known as the People's Communist Republic of California. Thankfully, this volcano doesn't have any firearms or else it would give cause for immediate government intervention. Joking aside, I'm not buying into the hype. I do see the very real possibility of serious stuff happening for the Hawaiian mainland people if this keeps up. In a few weeks if this lessens and subsides, they may go back to occasional spurts like before. It is an active volcanic island, there's bound to be upticks in activity.
