Hi, we bought camera for our cabin. The weather is really cold during winter (-25C). The camera is ok for this cold weather. I am more concerned about the system (hard drive). The cabin is not heated. I am looking for a solution to keep everything warm in a restricting area. Do you have any solutions or product in mind that can help me? I surfed the internet to find a special cabinet, but I found nothing yet.. Thanks!
The question is what powers your Servailance System? if it is Grid Power, then a Box with the Electronics in it, and insulated, with a 25 Watt Incondescent Light Bulb will stay nice and toasty all winter...If battery Power then what charges the Battery?
There is no moisture in a vacuum chamber. No moisture no damage to electrical components especially in freezing environments. Oxygen absorbers may work, but the chamber must be air tight . Only other solution I can think of is having an incandescent light to maintain warmth . I used this method to keep my washing machine from freezing .
An insulated Ice Chest would make a great box... Just cut a Small channel in the lid seam, or add a PVC Pipe at the bottom, to bring out all the external wires...
If you have a container that you can seal up except for a cord, you might find a gun cabinet heater that will do the job. It is NOT necessary to make it air tight, just limit air circulation. https://www.amazon.com/s/?ie=UTF8&k...id=kwd-310010431589&ref=pd_sl_dl6l1yqb1_e_p37
I've had PC's running at minus 7 and no issues. The system itself should make plenty of heat, especially when processing video. LCD screen is the problem and must be left on.
I'm sure it will be fine, I have some indoor models in a barn and they survive extreme heat and cold and some dampness.
Just initial set-up for an inventory control system in a HUGE refrigerated warehouse. Poor guys that worked there were at the keys quite often.
