    Dear friend,

A few days after the GOP presidential debate was held at the Reagan Library, a gentleman called my campaign office while driving to his local DMV office. He said, "I have never voted in my life. I’ve also never heard of Ron Paul until seeing him in the debate. I’m calling to tell you that I'm on my way to register to vote for the first time, so I can vote for Ron Paul!"

That debate really put my campaign into the national spotlight. For those who have followed me over the years, my message of freedom and limited government is familiar. But for an unknown number of people, this message is new.

And that's the exciting part of the Ron Paul 2008 campaign...and why I need your help.

We need your help to introduce the Ron Paul message to millions of Americans for the first time. But it will take money to do that.

For example, I will have a second major opportunity to reach out to new people tonight during the nationally televised (Fox News) GOP presidential debate in South Carolina. But that opportunity cost us, and each of the other candidates, $25,000.00. For the campaigns that have millions of dollars in the bank, paying the $25,000.00 fee was easy to do. But for us, it was a major expense.

The enthusiasm for my campaign for president is real...and it's building. And we are working overtime to keep it going.

Help me introduce my message, our message, of freedom and limited government to millions of Americans for the first time.

Please make a contribution today. You can contribute online or download a printable form by going to https://www.ronpaul2008.com/forms/contribute.cfm

The enthusiasm is real and it's building. Help us keep it going. Contribute today.

    Thank you!

    Congressman Ron Paul

Thanks for the heads up... I caught it just in time.

    Dumbest Statement of the Night:

Mit Romney: "I support the second amendment rights, but I also support the assault weapons ban". [beat]

Sad to say, but Ron Paul stepped on his own feet last night during the debate! His theory of why 9/11 took place didn't go over very well, and Giuliani ripped Paul apart, to the cheers of the audience! Giuliani asked Paul to recant his theory, but Paul could only stumble around for a response.

In essence, I think that Dr. Paul should bow out gracefully at this point. He's a very intelligent man, and has some great ideas, but there is NO way that he will get the Republican banner. I couldn't figure out why he was in the run to begin with, at age 71!

Tom Tancredo was also a let-down, for he stubbed his toe on his own area of expertise....illegal immigration!

Willard Romney (Yes, that's his REAL first name) shot himself in the foot with his AW ban backing, at least in my opinion.

There were several "personal shots" handed out during this second debate. One bit of humor had the audience roaring....it was about "spending in a beauty shop"... but, I won't spoil it for those who may watch later.

The overall "winner"? Well, I'd have to say that it was....!

Therein lay the problem. Ron Paul told the truth, decades of hamfisted foreign policy is more likely the issue. Rudy's indignant, holier than thou stance that the 911 attackers had no reason to hate us, just that we're a "free society" has become very tiresome to me and many others, but the sheeple want to hear US GOOD, THEM BAD. And that's what Rudy's crossdressing ass gave them.

Unfortunately I agree that Ron Paul doesn't stand a snowball's chance, but he is the only one up there that actually understands the constitution. The sheeple don't like the constitution, they wan't more stupid country songs about 911 heroes and "boots in yer ass".

I have to agree with Blackjack there. I am so tired of the flag waving my dog is better than your dog premise that everyone seems to expect. I was in Trinidad on 9/11 and the local opinion was "it's about time somebody broke one off in America's ass; they've been pushing the rest of the world around for 50 years." We are not the beloved nation to our neighbors that everyone would like to believe and nobody envies anything here except for the giant shopping malls. I agree with Dr. Paul and think that Guiliani's rhetoric was nothing but grand-standing and posturing. I really think that if they ask a question, they should not only expect an answer but have the courtesy to listen.

While what some of what you folks have said is correct much is an incomplete thought kind of like anything of Ron Paul's on any issue .

Paul knows the Constitution but that's all this F***tard knows ! And the Constitution doesn't cover all the problems a President will face and Pauls answers are nothing but sound bites .

    Sea states

Problem is if we are friends with any Nation for any period of time they want something from us and as the relationship ages that want grows and grows to the point no matter what we do it isn't enough .

No matter what we do we will be resented just like a filthy rich parent who refuses to just hand all the money over to the spoiled child to piss away .

Paul spoke of Iran resenting us because we backed the Shah , well that dates back to the middle 1950's over 50 years ago ! In most peoples minds it is time for them to get the hell over it ! But we are talking about a bunch of religious wackos who are fighting the Jews over land who both claim it according to what God promised them over 3 thousand years ago !

How do you reason with "people" like this ?

Bin Laden may claim the 9-11 attack happened because we are in Saudi Arabia and Kuwait because they laughed him out of the Royal palace when he suggested he and his army could protect them from Saddam in 91 but it all a bunch of crap . Remember the U.S.S. Cole ? Lebanon ? Pan Am 103 ?

They have been attacking helpless people at every turn for decades using every excuse they can think of instead of just coming out and admitting they want to kill us because that is what their Quaran tells them to . Even the so called moderates hates us but since they are usually business men who making tons of money in the deal they play the game of liking Americans .

Paul and everyone else who thinks pulling out of Iraq or anywhere else will stop their attacks on us is terribly naive .

No matter what we do we will be in the wrong if not now at some point in the future so we might as well kick the chit out of them and get it over with , problem is we are playing games at that endeavor too .
because the Politicians think we can make friends "actually fools they can screw later" and money there .

Pauls Libertarian isolationist views will get us in just as much if not more trouble as the present course of action because when we pull back from the rest of the world it will have time to build more formidable armies just like Germany did after WW I and then a war will cost far more in lives and money .

Theres nothing wrong with being involved in the rest of the world but it needs to be done like England did for centuries , go in and stomp all the resitance into the ground and then rule with an Iron hand . Of course there isn't as much room for back alley deals and payoffs for corrupt officials doing it this way so it isn't quite as popular as playing games and screwing people left and right without them knowing it until it is too late .

I missed the beginning, but caught the rest live on the 'net last night.

My favorite part; Rudy was asked about being a true conservative. He went on and on... Then Wallace says (something like) "I'm going to give you another 30 seconds to actually answer my question." [LMAO]

If you really believe this, go to his website and read. His views (on tv) may sound like incomplete thoughts because you can't explain the blunders of US foreign policy over the last 50 years in a 30 second spot. But it's plenty of time for Giuliani to wave a flag.

The constitution might be a hell of a good place to start, eh? We sure aren't following it now.

For Giuliani to act offended that someone would suggest our foreign policy actually may have had something to do with it (heaven forbid) is just shallow grandstanding. I'd really like a bit more out of our president than that, but that's all we've had for some time now.

Paul is a smart guy whose been in Politics for 27 some years now. I think he knows exactly what he is doing and how the questioners will try to pick him apart. Not to worry.

As for him only knowing the Constitution? Me thinks that would be a fine place for a president to start. All the Pres needs to do after that is lead within those constraints. Paul is right in that the .gov doesn't even have the constitutional authorization to discuss Health Care, let alone devise a system of such.

It's sad that we look at the field and try to decide who seems more 'presidential'. What the **** does that even mean.

And why is a 9 year Congressman always refered to as a Long Shot? I think he has TPTB pretty shaken up right now. I see the MSM burying him every chance they get. I'll support him til the end.

If he loses, so have we.

Plus he scares the hell out of the sheep:

I just shipped off some cash. I am thoroughly disgusted by the mainstream media simply dismissing Ron Paul and crediting his poll numbers to "internet" group of people. They really don't understand that there are many Republicans who are at heart the same Democratic Republicans who hold the constitution to be the foremost law in the land. I can't stand the media calling the "2nd Tier Canidates" by that moniker. Why does Romney get a special 60 minutes episode? Because the powers that be have already put their $$ and Media behind him or Giuliani as their poster children to mellow out the Republican party. **** that noise! I, for one, am either voting for Ron Paul or voting for the socialist party because that is what we already have in the Republdemocratic party.....they just can't admit it.
