I just went back to read the comments...... what a bunch of idiots. What's it good for? A backup for elephant hunters in case of a charge. Pretty specialized, eh? I wonder how much a cartridge costs? I read somewhere in WWI, the German snipers would advance on the trenches behind plate steel to get in position for a shot and the Brits broke out the elephant guns to punch through the steel. So if you ever find yourself in trench warfare or charged by an angry bull elephant...... ya got it covered.
BlackJack. If I remember correctly at one time I heard that each round was either 100.00 or 200. But I would view it the same way I would a derringer. You wouldn't want to shoot it normally because of the cost or recoil but if it worked when you needed it whats the cost then. Take care Be safe Poacher.
