TeamSpeak Is Back

I was playing around with TeamSpeak a couple days ago and found that Mindgrinder’s original MonkeySpeak server is still active. Tried it out and have talked to 2 Monkeys so far.

Downloading the TS program has been simplified with only selecting the operating system you have, 32 or 64 bit computer and hit the download button. So now no one has the excuse that setting it up is to hard. I loaded both 32 and 64 bit on 2 different Windows 7 laptops.

@Brokor – I can not get the Linux download to install...help please.

Note: If you still have TS loaded from before you will want to load the new version.

Server Address = ts41.gameservers.com:9166

For those new to this, when you open up the TS window click “Connections”, “Connect” and then enter the server address along with the nickname you want to use then click “Connect”. If “Use Privilege Key” comes up just click “Cancel” and your on.

If you can’t figure out how to select a push to talk key or have any other questions just ask.

Note: You will need a microphone and headset or ear buds for this.

 

@Mountainman - What flavor(s) of Linux (which distro) and 32 or 64 bit? RPM is going to be different from DEB, and both will differ from a tarball.

 

@DarkLight - Mint 18 Cinnamon 32-Bit.

 

@Mountainman - Going to see a musical tonight with the family, will try to get it installed in a VM to test but may not be before Brokor gets on and helps out.

Can you participate from an Android OS phone?

 

Just remember OPSEC when you are on TS. I do not know who the server is so only use your SM name or your first name when talking and never say anything that you would not post here.

 

Post in the Shoutbox first to see if anyone wants to go on and talk. Most people in the past only go on in the evenings

 

Oh well, this leaves me out. No mic here.

This would be an interesting way to interact with other members.

I reckon I could try this on my tablet. Tablets tend to be my arch enemies, though. I really don't like using them, with the exception of reading an eBook while in bed.

 

Can't you buy a mic somewhere/somehow to plug in?

 

I reckon I can try. But, it will be some time before we get back to town, if any shops even have one in stock. Not to mention, no electronics shops, here in the province. In fact, not much for sale here, aside from food, construction supplies, and farming provisions. Also, I never had a need (want / desire) for mics or cams., attached to my desktops here, until now.

 

Another option to consider is Discord. No servers to manage or setup. OPSEC rules will still apply since rooms/channels are stored on the discord cloud.
