I received a pair of Muck Boots last year and I love them. For years I wore wellies/rubber boots that were all rubber. Muck boots have a fabric upper that is really nice especially when wearing shorts. My boots are worn all year long and real easy to clean, just take a hose to them. There is no oiling or waterproofing needed. Muck boots are rubber so they are not the warmest boots but there is enough room to wear an extra pair of sock and stay comfortable. The sole has good tread so slipping in the snow is not an issue. I have the Edgewater series and find that it works perfectly for snowy days, rain, mud and doing summer chores.

I have been so happy with these boots that I think they gained a customer for life.

halliburton boots and bunker boots, steel shank and toe insulated knee height can't run worth a chit in them but warm and dry in bad weather.

My experience with muck boots, especially with heavy socks has been great, but they are not a survival boot, I was out in the woods during mud season here in New Hampshire and wore them for several hours working in the woods. They chafed above my ankles until I was nearly crippled the next day. They are easy to get on and off, but in order to get your foot in, they have lots of space when you walk and the design transfers the foot movement and leg movement into a chafing action. You really need a lace boot or puttee for long distance walking or snow shoeing under winter conditions.

We're YUGE fans of MUCK boots, and both have had a number of pairs. We always get the 600 and 1000 gram insulated boots, and they really help keep warm and comfy. For hard core work, the Red Wings professonal ( oil platform boots) series are even better, but almost twice the cost! Short of fireman boots, both are awesome. I actually prefer my Mucks, they are easier to put on and take off, and they dry much quicker. I am usually in mucks when out side, and I almost always have the tops folded down and my pants blouses, or am in shorts!

Been wearing Muck's for a long time now. The steel toed version is pretty much standard in the oil patch.
FYI they do make an insulated version that will keep yer tootsies warm in all but the coldest Colorado weather. I've worn them in -20 weather up on the Crawford Trail up above Parachute welding on the rigs with no problems.

Yup! Pretty much standard wear for us, hunting, fishing, gardening, yard work, feed and lumber store runs. I don' know the name off the top of my head, but the heavy insulated steel toes are the ones I am always wearing,l! About the only time I'm not is hard core hiking/climbing, or in the shop working on stuff, then it' a heavy pair of leather steel toes with extra heavy leather gaters, don' want a got Cherrie landing on my foots and burning through( did that once, and couldn't get my boot off fast enough! Lol! We have both tried every pair of rubber type boots out there, the Mucks are the only ones that last in that price range!

UncleMorgan I like peeling bananas and (occasionally) people.

    Good to know this stuff.

I've always wondered what a work boot was.

@Motomom34 Well, I think you made a sell! I have rubber boots. They were too high so I cut them off which help things but what I dislike is they don't feel good against the skin. I need a set of waterproof boots that go-on and come-off easy/fast as living in the country one is always walking in wet dirt/mud/snow and the wife has a 'shoes off' policy for the house. I am going to get on Zappos and look at a pair now.

EDIT: Does one order their normal size or one size larger?

In Alaska we have "ExtraTuffs" which are the Alaskan Tennis Shoes... Everyone wears them, Everywhere, until the temps get below ZERO F, then it goes to Bunny Boots....

I have my regular size. You are going to love these. After years of wearing 100% rubber boots, the upper being fabric really makes a difference. I have seen some boots that look like Muck's in Walmart but unsure of the quality. My Mom & Step-dad have been wearing their Muck's for a few years and not real sign of wear.

Was wondering if you ever got a pair and if you like them. I was wearing mine yesterday even though it was 90 degrees. They are my go-to work around the yard boots. I like being able to hose them off.

I've heard nothing but good about them. I've just had a hard time up to this point justifying ~$140 for a pair of rubber boots.

No, not yet. I want the heavy insulated ones, 'Arctic Sport,' for winter which are rated for -40F to 40F. I have been waiting around hoping I would be able to purchase a set locally because I hate buying a 'new' set of boots online because, 9 times out of 10, I will have to send them back for a different size. Once I know exactly what my size is in a specific boot then I order them consistently but the first pair is always a crap shoot. Now, that I said all that perhaps I should order them now so I will be ready for winter even if I have to return them. I will definitely be getting a pair for winter...

EDIT: I will post when I purchase mine. I might do it this week as I definitely want them for winter. Here is what I'm buying:

@Ura-Ki have you tried the arctic muck boots? I don't know much about them. They have great reviews on Amazon

Yup, work great, awesome traction in the cold, but they will wear faster when the temps are above freezing, that's when I switch out to the lighter Mucks!
